2020: The investment attraction, assessment in $30 million
On December 2, 2020 the HoverSurf company, the developer of the Russia's first flying motorcycle, announced the investment attraction. The entrepreneur Ismail Akhmetov, the co-founder of Qiwi Sergey Solonin, Starta Ventures fund, an angel investors Nikolay Belykh, Evgeny Medvednikov and Maxim Korobov invested in the project. Investment volume is not called, but the estimated value of a startup — $30 million is known.
About the transaction wrote the Populyarnaya Mekhanika magazine. In the publication it is said that the investor decided to purchase a share in HoverSurf because of transition of the company to terminal phase of tests of the aviation electric motors using Venturi's effect. The team of engineers created and issued the patent for a functional prototype of the engine which is safer, more compact and more silent than air screws.
I am impressed with progress of Hoversurf in approach of an era of the flying independent drones. Actually, the decision on investment which I made after fundamental assessment of the company is also explained by it. Hoversurf has every chance to perform revolution in private and commercial transportations — for example, in the taxi. This grandiose feeling — to participate in the history which will change the world — Ismail Akhmetov said. |
Earlier the CEO of HoverSurf Alexander Atamanov told that the company conducts negotiations on the investment attraction with ВЭБ.РФ, Sberbank, AFK "Sistema" and Intel Capital. In ВЭБ.РФ confirmed readiness to invest several million dollars in development of the flying HoverBike S3 motorcycle. Whether agreements with the mentioned companies were signed, by the beginning of December, 2020 it is unknown.
Alexander Atamanov, commenting on the investment attraction at the beginning of December, 2020, noted that the company at the expense of these means will be able to become the leader, including in commercialization of results R&D-деятельности to deliver Russia on the first place in a segment of the autonomous flying vehicles.[1]
