Biography

Aleksei Kornya was born on December 16, 1975.

In 1998, he graduated with honors from St. Petersburg State University of Economics and Finance.

He worked for North-West Telecom and PricewaterhouseCoopers Audit

In 2004, Aleksei Kornya began working at MTS as the financial director of the regional division of MTS Ural.

In 2004-2007, he was Director of the MTS Business Planning Group.

Since March 2007, he took the post of Director of the MTS Group for Controlling.

Since 2008 - BPiO, and since 2010 - Vice President of MTS PJSC for Finance and Investments.

In 2008, he joined the Board of Directors of Mobile TeleSystems (MTS Belorus).

In 2009, he joined the Board of Directors of International Cell Holding LTD.

In 2012, he became a member of the Board of Directors of CJSC RTK.

In 2014, he was included in the Board of Directors of MTS-Bank PJSC.

In 2015, he joined the Board of Directors of Sistema Capital Management Company.

In June 2015, by the decision of the General Meeting of MTS-Bank PJSC, he was re-elected to the Board of Directors of the company, a member of the Strategy and Risk Management Committee.

From June 2016 to March 2018 - Vice President for Finance, Investments, Mergers and Acquisitions of MTS.

As of March 2018, he is a member of the budget committee under the Board of Directors of MTS PJSC and the Supervisory Board of MTS Ukraine PrJSC.

2018: President of MTS

On March 1, 2018, by a decision of the MTS Board of Directors, he Aleksei Kornya appointed president of the Russian telecommunications operator and digital service provider MTS for a period of three years. In this post, he replaced Andrei Dubovskov, who, of his own free will, prematurely terminated the duties of president and chairman of the company's board.

Aleksei Kornya will take office as president of MTS on March 13, 2018.

2022

Appointment as Executive Director of Magnit

On January 20, 2022, the appointment of Aleksei Kornya as the new executive director of Magnit was announced. In this position, the former president of MTS will deal with the digital transformation of the retailer, as well as the development of digital services for buyers.

According to TASS, citing Magnit's statement, Aleksei Kornya area of ​ ​ responsibility will include e-commerce, financial and legal functions, investment and risk management. At the same time, the director of digital technologies of Magnit is Yuri Misnik, who previously worked at Microsoft, Amazon and First Abu Dhabi Bank.

The ex-president of MTS became the executive director of Magnit and took up its digital transformation

The former executive director and deputy general director of Magnit was the founder of LamodaFlorian Jansen, who left the company in the summer of 2021. Then the retailer announced structural changes aimed at accelerating the pace of e-commerce development. As a result, the position of executive director held by Jansen was abolished.

Performing the duties of Magnit's E-Commerce Director

The Board of Directors decided to terminate the powers of Andrei Lukashevich as a member of the Board. This became known on April 12, 2022. Lukashevich's function in the company will continue to be implemented by the executive director, deputy general director Aleksei Kornya, whose responsibility already included the e-commerce unit.
