Five Seas and Lake Baikal (resort construction project)

2023:1 trillion rubles will be invested in the creation of new resorts on 5 seas

On November 8, 2023, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko at a meeting on the Five Seas project announced the formation of proposals for the construction of 10 new resorts in the Baltic, Azov, Black, Caspian and Japanese Seas in seven regions of the Russian Federation. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the volume of investments in these projects will exceed 1 trillion rubles, mainly extrabudgetary funds. We are talking about the following resorts:

According to Chernyshenko, when creating resorts, over 61 thousand new jobs will be created. The goal of the project is to provide at least 140 million domestic tourist trips. Multiplier for these projects: for each invested ruble of federal funds more than 10 rubles of extra-budgetary investments, the Deputy Prime Minister added.

Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin at a meeting on the Five Seas project called the development of tourism in the country one of the priority tasks. An increase in tourist flow, he is sure, will give an impetus to the development of the infrastructure, the emergence of new jobs and, in general, the growth of the regional economy.

It is important to work on building up the urban planning potential of the territories, including for the construction of tourist facilities and related infrastructure, - said Khusnillin.
