As a site for "KII Clouds"
The Ostapovsky-2 data center became the second infrastructure platform of the KII Clouds in Moscow. RTK-DPC announced this on November 28, 2025. More here.
Renaming to Ostapovsky-2 Data Center
According to the company RTK-DPC"," DPC "Moscow-V" was renamed in 2025 to "DPC Ostapovsky-2."
2024: Commissioning of the Moscow-V data center
RTK-DPC completed the commissioning of the Moscow-V data center. Rostelecom announced this on October 17, 2024.
In the Ostapovsky data center cluster, the 4th and 5th queues with a volume of 1024 racks were launched. Now the Moscow-V data center is fully commissioned and accommodates 2048 racks.
The first stage of the launch of the facility started in 2020 with the construction of a building from scratch. Then basic engineering systems were connected to it to obtain permission for commissioning in March 2022. At subsequent stages, the project was equipped with engineering infrastructure to ensure the operation of the life cycle of a full-fledged data center.
As of October 2024, the total area of the data center is 12,150 m ², the supplied electric power is 17 MW. In the 2nd and 3rd stages, 1,024 racks were launched, and the capacity doubled. The data center corresponds to the level of protection of Tier III, that is, all the main vital engineering systems of the facility are reserved.
| The completion of construction in the Ostapovsky cluster is an important step in the development strategy of our network of data centers. We built the Moscow-V data center, expanding the existing site despite all the technical difficulties, and are proud of this project, - said Konstantin Stepanov, Development Director of the RTK-DPC data center. |
2020: Start of construction of the data center
On July 29, 2020, Rostelecom announced the start of construction of a data center for 2 thousand racks in Moscow. Its area will be 10 150 m ², the total capacity is 17 MW.
According to the company, DPC it will have the maximum possible level of reliability Tier IV. It means that all system elements and distribution channels are not only reserved, but also protected from physical destruction: located in separate rooms or run in different ways in protected boxes. In addition, a data center of this level should provide uninterrupted power supply and continuous cooling of IT equipment in case of any system failure.
The design and construction of the new data center is carried out according to the standards of the Uptime Institute International Institute. Rostelecom intends to certify the site for compliance with Tier IV requirements in three areas of the Uptime Institute: Design, Facility and Operational Sustainability. By the end of July 2020, there are no data centers in Russia that would confirm the Tier IV level in all three areas of certification.
| We plan to use the experience of colleagues in passing certification according to the Uptime Institute standard and jointly implement our best practices in creating a fault-tolerant infrastructure and competent management of the data center, "said Pavel Kaplunov, vice president of Rostelecom. |
The construction of a new data center, which will be located at 22 Ostapovsky proezd, p. 4, is being carried out by Rostelecom DPC and DataLine, which joined Rostelecom in early 2020.
The full-scale launch of the data center is scheduled for mid-2022. In the second half of 2021, it is planned to launch the first 500 racks.
In 2020, Rostelecom DPC also plans to put into operation two data centers in Moscow for 1050 racks and sites in St. Petersburg for 800 racks and Novosibirsk for 300 racks.[1]
