Availability of DataLine Cloud Services

Start-up of data center for 300 racks

On January 25, 2021, Rostelecom announced the launch of a new data center in Novosibirsk. Its total capacity was 3 MW. Three machine rooms have been created in the data center, where 300 racks are located.

According to the press service of Rostelecom, in terms of infrastructure reliability, the Novosibirsk data center corresponds to the Tier III level. All elements of infrastructure systems are reserved, power inputs and telecommunications routes pass independent routes. This, according to the company, ensures the uninterrupted operation of the data center when servicing its systems.

Rostelecom launched a 300-rack data center in Novosibirsk

It is noted that all services that are already operating DPCs in other cities will be available to Rostelecom customers in this data processing center. In particular, we are talking about the placement of server equipment (colocation service), telecom services, cloud infrastructure (products), IaaS backup, administration, etc.

General Director of Rostelecom DPC Pavel Kaplunov said that in 2021 the company intends to actively develop the regional network of data centers. So, according to him, in addition to the site in Novosibirsk, it is planned to open the second stage of the data center in Yekaterinburg and Udomle, as well as the start of construction of a data center in Nizhny Novgorod.

Together with the expansion of the geography of presence, it is important for us to ensure that all objects comply with Tier III level in terms of the data center infrastructure itself and its operation. This is one of the main factors in ensuring a unified standard of quality of our services for customers throughout Russia. Since all data centers are interconnected by a single data network, we will be able to offer customers additional opportunities in terms of geodistributed services, "said Kaplunov, whose words are quoted in a press release.[1]

2018

Rostelecom specialists in 2018 are conducting design and survey work on the construction of a new regional data center. The data center with the third level of reliability is designed on Mendeleev, 1, not far from the existing Rostelecom data center^[2] will^[3].

The new building with a capacity of 3 MW will accommodate three hundred racks, which will give six times more opportunities than the existing data center. At the same time, as explained in Rostelecom, the need for a new data center is caused by a 95% workload of the existing data center.

The commissioning of the new data center is scheduled for next year. In 2019, this facility will begin serving customers throughout Siberia. Three of the four levels of reliability will allow Rostelecom to guarantee the continuous operation of equipment by 99, 982%.
