2022: Establishment of Intercollegiate SOC
Russia The Intercollegiate Student provider Services (cyber security MSSP) SOC is created on the basis of the Consortium of Supporting Universities of the Republic. Tatarstan The project is supported by the Civil Code Innostage together with technological partners, which the company announced on September 21, 2022.
Intercollegiate SOC will protect Russian universities at the federal and regional levels. Students of educational institutions will be responsible for the rapid response of the center to incidents, and teachers will monitor their activities. In emergency situations, Innostage specialists can virtually connect to the center.
Participation in the university's SOC will allow students to increase their knowledge of the functioning of security, monitoring and incident response centers. In addition, they will have the opportunity to work closely with real incidents already during practice at the university.
To ensure the cyber stability of the state and business, more information security specialists are needed. As of September 2022, they are sorely lacking in the market: according to our estimates, the deficit is about 50 thousand people. Closer cooperation with universities can help solve the problem. It is for this purpose that we are creating a security center on the basis of supporting higher educational institutions, to which other universities of the country will subsequently connect, "said Aydar Guzairov, General Director of Innostage Group of Companies. |
At the first stage, the university SOC will be created on the basis of three universities, including Kazan National Research Technical University named after A.N. Tupolev (KAI), Kazan Federal University (KFU) and Kazan State Energy University (KGEU). The first meeting with university students will be held on September 22 at the Kazan Digital Week 2022 forum site. They will participate in a trial practical intensity that will introduce them to the work of SOC analysts.
The role of Innostage HA in the development of intercollegiate SOC is to provide a methodological framework for its construction. The company provides the center with a team of specialists with extensive experience in dealing with incidents. In addition, Innostage provides SOC with the technological resources to build the infrastructure and generally monitors the implementation of the project.
SOC technology partners, including Positive Technologies and Cyberok, are responsible for its technical equipment and providing advanced solutions for monitoring and responding to incidents. They provide the center with the necessary licenses of software and hardware systems.
The consortium of supporting universities, which includes the main technical higher educational institutions of Tatarstan, will ensure the operational activities of SOC: incident monitoring, prevention and prompt response to threats by students and control of their activities by teachers.
