The American AetherPal founded in 2009 develops the software, intended for remote control by smartphones, tablets and notebooks in the companies. Software allows IT administrators to control operation of devices, to update them and applications and also to eliminate faults.
History
2019: VMware purchased AetherPal
On February 5, 2019 the producer of systems for virtualization of VMware announced AetherPal acquisition, but did not begin to set the transaction price. At the time of the announcement AetherPal attracted in total $6 million investments.
VMware is going to integrate technologies of the purchased startup with the Workspace One platform providing tool kit for administration of applications and devices.
The companies cooperated since 2017: VMware offered software from AetherPal as a part of Workspace One. The joint solution under the name Workspace ONE Advanced Remote Management was used in "some largest projects on deployment of devices in the world", the vice president of VMware, Shankar Iyer in the blog of the company reported.
According to him, AetherPal technologies increase performance of mobile employees and reduce a downtime of the equipment.

The solutions AetherPal and Workspace One will be integrated with each other even more closely to support more scenarios of use. "Modern approach" AetherPal to remote support will expand possibilities of Workspace One in several directions, Shankar Lyer added. The personnel of AetherPal will join division of VMware End User Computing.[1]
