The PacketMotion company was purchased by VMware company. Now solutions of vendor for management of actions of users will be integrated in a virtual line of VMware.
PacketMotion, the solution provider on control of actions of users (UAM – User Activity Monitoring), announced that it was purchased VMware companies on August 26 this year. Terms of transaction are not disclosed.
The monitoring system of actions of users of PacketSentry of PacketMotion company actively developed recently, increasing the functionality demanded for protection of virtual environment, and the recent release of the solution vProbe considerably expanded capability of PacketSentry to exercise control of actions of users during the work in virtual infrastructure.
VMware is going to use PacketMotion technologies in VMware vShield product family and also to entirely pour in group of staff of PacketMotion in division of Cloud computing of VMware company.
It is said in the official statement of the company that PacketMotion guarantees to the customers full implementation of all obligations for technical support and warranty replacement and also gives an opportunity of prolongation of technical support until the end of 2012.
Let's remind that in June of this year VMware purchased the company Socialcast. The software of Socialcast integrates the existing corporate applications, including Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Outlook and also the instrument of microblogging and a discussion forum, in one joint application. It is intended for simplification of work of employees in search and shared access to information.
VMware does not disclose Socialcast acquisition value. Clients [Socialcast is the companies Nokia Avaya Humana Philips Electronics SAS, and until recently and VMware.
This year VMware purchased also SlideRocket and Zimbra. Zimbra offers a set of products of e-mail and collective work, and SlideRocket allows users creation and sharing of PowerPoint presentations.
