2020: VMware purchased SaltStack
At the end of September, 2020 VMware announced acquisition of SaltStack at the price which the companies did not begin to call. Thanks to this purchase the software maker for virtualization intends to improve the packet VMware vRealize intended for management of heterogeneous data centers and hybrid cloud environments.
Automation of a cloud is a fundamental element of any successful cloud strategy. It does a cloud quicker, more simply and in many respects more safely — the senior vice president and the head of cloud division of VMware Adzhay Singh says, commenting on merger of SaltStack. — It helps clients to work with clouds, minimizing difficulties, risks and inefficiency. According to Singh, use of the open source software by SaltStack company will help VMware to bring quicker products to the market and also to increase efficiency of developers.
VMware intends to continue work of SaltStack within the projects after closing of the transaction. Using heads of community SaltStack the VMware company will support and invest in its development — he added. |
According to the Crunchbase portal, by the end of September, 2020 SaltStack attracted in total $28 million investments. [1]
