The Balchug Plaza office complex is an A + class administrative and shopping complex located in the prestigious historical district of Moscow - at the intersection of Balchug Street and Sadovnicheskaya Embankment, less than one kilometer from Red Square.
It consists of four buildings with a total area of about 30 thousand m ², of which more than 20 thousand m ² fall on the main building. Pre-revolutionary buildings on the plots were demolished, the facades of two low-rise buildings (an extended 2-story and 3-story buildings) copy the features of the lost historical facades.
History
2023: Recovery of 351 million rubles from the Russian office of Google
In early February 2023, the Ninth Arbitration Court of Appeal supported the lower instance, which, at the suit of businessman Roman Abramovich, controlled by Millhouse, ST Balchug (owner of the Balchug Plaza business center), recovered about $5 million from the Russian division of Google (about 351 million rubles at the exchange rate as of February 2, 2023). 2010: Google rents office
In 2010-2014, Google Corporation was a landmark resident of the business center, renting from 2.6 to 3.7 thousand meters here ²
2005: Sibneft Office
At the beginning of 2005, Millhouse Capital transferred it to Sibneft to accommodate the office. In 2005, Sibneft, with the transfer of control of Gazprom, refused to lease.
2004: Completion of construction
The business center was built in 2002-2004 on a site limited to Sadovnicheskaya Embankment, Balchug Street and the territory of the Church of the Great Martyr George the Victorious in Endov, while the historical buildings on the site were demolished, and the views of the temple were completely blocked by the facade.
In the summer of 2004, Millhouse Capital became the sole owner of the business center.
2000
1997: End of Building Design
The Balchug Plaza business center was designed in 1995-1997 by the Mosproekta-2 team under the leadership of Mikhail Posokhin Jr. Construction investors were ST Group, associated with Shalva Chigirinsky, and Millhouse Capital Roman Abramovich, who jointly invested more than $50 million. The general contractor was Codest, the design of public spaces was carried out by the Italian company Interstudio. Savatsky Property Management was chosen as the management company of Balchug Plaza.
