2020: X5 Retail Group and Sovcombank divided the Halva postamate project and ceased to cooperate

On October 12, 2020, it became known about the decision of X5 Retail Group and Sovcombank to stop cooperation on the Halva network of checkpoints: the operating company and software will be transferred to the bank, and the retailer will reserve some of the checkpoints.

The joint venture - LLC TsTB - was created to manage automated points for issuing online purchases under the Halva brand. Sovcombank appealed to the Federal Antimonopoly Service with a petition to acquire 50% of CTB owned by X5 Retail Group. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

By October 12, 2020, the joint venture operates a network of 3,000 post offices under the Halva brand, 1,400 of which are located in the stores of the Kh5 group. Halva posts are located in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Kazan and other large cities.

According to Sergei Khotimsky, First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Sovcombank, the bank's full control over the operator of the post office network will allow it to develop even faster and go beyond the Kh5 network, starting work with other major Russian retailers.

We see positive customer reviews for Halva posts and growing demand for this service. Sovcombank is interested in the project, we will continue to develop the concept of post offices at home with multi-courier access for our logistic partners, "he stressed.

After the closure of the transaction, the operator company will manage a network of 2,000 stations under the Halva brand and will maintain a presence in the Kh5 locations. The 5Post project, developed by X5 Retail Group, will receive 1112 TsTB posts and will continue to develop them under its brand based on^[1] logistics^[2]
