Care Mentor AI (CareMentorAI LLC) is a company developing neural networks for the recognition and analysis of medical images in the field of radiology, such as X-rays, MRI and CT images. It was founded in 2017 by Pavel Reutberg and Vladimir Nikolsky. The main task of the company is to reduce the number of medical errors, improve the quality of examinations and increase life expectancy.

Care Mentor consists of two business units:

  • A service based on a medical neural network for the analysis of radiological studies (CT, MRI, X-ray, etc.)
  • Single cloud platform for distributed and remote description of radiological research

The product is integrated into the working circuit of large Russian medical institutions (JSC Medicine, Mariinsky Hospital, etc.), has been studied at leading Russian universities (Sechenov University, St. Petersburg University), scientific research results have been published in authoritative international scientific publications (Imaging in Medicine, etc.)

History

2025: Introduction of the observation procedure by the Moscow court

On June 10, 2025, it became known that the Moscow Arbitration Court introduced a monitoring procedure against Care Mentor AI, a company specializing in the development of medical AI systems under the Care Mentor AI brand.

According to Vademecum, the basis for the introduction of the observation procedure was the lawsuit of the former backend developer of the company Roman Grin. The programmer recovered from the employer ₽2,798 million compensation for unpaid wages and moral damage.

Delays in salary payments to a former employee began in January 2023. Since April 2023, the company has completely stopped paying for developer services. In October 2023, the employer unilaterally terminated the contract with the programmer.

The court ruled to charge Roman Grin ₽1,572 million unpaid wages and ₽115 thousand compensation for the delay in payment. The former employee also received ₽1,084 million in average earnings during the forced absenteeism and ₽25 thousand compensation for moral damage.

The company did not pay the funds on the executive list for three months. Since the amount exceeded ₽2 million, the plaintiff had reason to demand bankruptcy of the operator. In June 2025, the claims of the Federal Tax Service for a total of ₽3,598 million were added to the requirements of the ex-employee.

In the spring of 2025, KareMentorAI filed a lawsuit against Medicine JSC to recover rent arrears in the amount of ₽6,9 million. The total volume of claims against the company exceeded ₽13 million.

Care Mentor AI was established by the creator of Doctor Smart Pavel Reutberg and the former operating director of Mail.ru Group in Russia Vladimir Nikolsky. Pavel Reutberg is the son of Grigory Reutberg, founder of Medicine JSC.

The company's main product was X-ray analysis using machine learning technologies. Investments in the development of an AI system were estimated at $1 million. In December 2020, the company received a grant of ₽10 million from the Innovation Assistance Fund to develop the Onko-CT Mentor solution. [1]

2021: Victory in Novartis acceleration program
