Salesforce.com buys Demandware for $2.8 billion
On June 1, 2016 the producer of the cloud CRM solutions Salesforce.com announced purchase of Demandware for $2.8 billion that became the largest acquisition in the history of this American company.
The transaction which is going to be closed in July, 2016 is estimated at $75 for the stock Demandware that is 56% more than the cost of securities at the time of closing of the exchange on May 31, 2016. The message about sale of Demandware provoked rise in price of stocks of the company to $75.
During the conference devoted to merger of Demandware, the operating officer of Salesforce.com Keith Block reported that within three last years his company paid special attention to increase in examination in certain markets for the purpose of improvement of customer interaction.
Salesforce.com, being a market leader of cloud commercial tools, thanks to purchase of Demandware will be able to improve sales of the customer-oriented products in the retail industry. Besides, integration of the Demandware platform will help Salesforce.com to personalize more qualitatively the offers, Blok said.
As notes the Bloomberg agency, purchase of Demandware became the largest acquisition for Salesforce.com.[1]
