OJSC Khabarovsk Shipbuilding Plant, which is part of the Far Eastern Shipbuilding Center (DVCSS), a sub-holding of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC), was founded on June 29, 1953. Over the years, the company has mastered the production of almost all types of surface ships, ships, boats of any purpose from different grades of steel and light alloys with a displacement of up to 2000 tons.

Today, the Khabarovsk Shipbuilding Plant can offer a large selection of fishing trawlers, refrigerated trucks, barges, boats, boats for various purposes, passenger ships, amphibious-type multi-purpose hovercraft, auxiliary vessels for the port fleet (tugs, bunkers, oil collectors, ram boats, platform vessels), as well as hovercraft for the oil and gas industry (TSVP).

History

2026: Appointment as CEO of Dmitry Astafiev

Former head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Khabarovsk Territory Dmitry Astafiev was appointed General Director of Khabarovsk Shipbuilding Plant JSC (KhSZ), which has been owned by the region since January 2026. Governor Dmitry Demeshin announced this in January 2026. 2025: Nationalization of the plant

The document posted on the official Internet portal of legal information contains consent to the alienation of 8.8 million ordinary shares of KhSZ owned by the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC). The buyer determined LLC "Center for Assistance and Support of Industry" - the structure of the Industrial Development Fund of the Khabarovsk Territory.

Khabarovsk shipyard nationalized

According to the annual reporting of the shipbuilding enterprise for 2024, the sole shareholder of KhSZ is USC, which owns 16.9 million ordinary shares. Thus, 52.2% of the company's shares will pass to the Khabarovsk Territory. The transaction must be carried out at a price not lower than the market value determined by an independent appraiser.

The Fund also undertakes obligations to repay KhSZ's debt to USC shareholders and its subsidiaries. According to RBC, 323 claims against the plant totaling about 2.6 billion rubles were considered in the arbitration court at the time of the transaction.

The development program of the enterprise includes the creation of a cluster of civil shipbuilding and ship repair on the basis of the shipyard. The regional government is looking for potential investors and customers to load the plant's production facilities.
