The order of the Government of the Russian Federation of February 2, 2010 No. 78-r the Oboronenergosbyt open joint stock company is defined by the only supplier of electrical energy for needs of the Russian Defense Ministry, including for the purpose of providing with electrical energy the organizations subordinated to the Russian Defense Ministry.

Main objective is creation of effective business structure on the basis of implementation of modern technologies of management, purchase and sale of the electric power for the benefit of reliable, economic and available power supply of consumers of the Russian Defense Ministry.
