2024: Opening of Research Institute
In mid-February 2024, the official opening of the Research Institute of Pulmonology of the FMBA of Russia in Moscow took place. It is expected to become the main Russian scientific and methodological center in the field of respiratory pathology, rehabilitation of patients who have undergone coronavirus (COVID-19) infection, as well as the leading institution in Russia for the treatment of chronic nonspecific and orphan lung diseases, including cystic fibrosis.
According to the press service of the FMBA, 275 specialists, 44 doctors, 65 nurses, 56 researchers, including academics, outstanding scientists, doctors and candidates of medical sciences work at the Research Institute of Pulmonology.
The building has six floors and an area of about 22.9 thousand square meters. m. It is connected to other buildings of the clinic using an attached transition at the level of the second floor. It houses medical, diagnostic departments and blocks of hospital wards. A multi-storey parking lot for 230 cars was also built on the territory of the institution, communications were laid, including an oxygen pipeline, a square for walking patients and employees was equipped. The volume of investments in this project by mid-February 2024 was not disclosed.
According to Galina Karelova, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Federal Structure, Regional Policy, Local Self-Government and Northern Affairs at the opening ceremony of the Research Institute building, the building includes scientific, medical and diagnostic departments.
