Sretenka theological seminary

By 2018 the Sretenka theological seminary of the metropolitan Tikhon has the best indicators in a system: in 20 years of existence it let out 550 seminarists from whom 70% became priests, and the others work in different Synod structures.

History

Network interaction with the Moscow spiritual academy

In July, 2019 the resolution of the Most Saint Patriarch Kirill on the official report according to the results of work of the commission on optimization of educational process in the Moscow spiritual academy and the Sretenka theological seminary was published.

"1. For the purpose of implementation of the solution of the Sacred Synod (Magazine No. 75 of 7/9/2019) to charge to the rector of the Moscow spiritual academy, the acting the rector of the Sretenka theological seminary, the Archbishop of Verey Ambrose to start with involvement of specialists of the specified educational institutions development of documentation necessary for implementation of network interaction between the Moscow spiritual academy and the Sretenka theological seminary on condition of preserving of all current steps of education in both spiritual educational institutions.

2. As specialization profiles for the Sretenka theological seminary to define vicarial and missionary, church and historical and a profile of Church Slavonic philology.

For the Moscow spiritual academy to define the following profiles: orthodox divinity, Bible Studies, Greek Christian literature, Russian spiritual literature, history and theory of church art.

3. Within 2019-2020 academic years to prepare transition to network interaction between the Moscow spiritual academy and the Sretenka theological seminary with a possibility of further expansion of a circle of other church and secular higher education institutions and other scientific institutions involved in this process."
