Cooperation with the Agency for the Development of Professions and Skills in the field of design, development, testing and implementation of advanced professions
The Agency for the Development of Professions and Skills and Web3 Tech on September 22, 2023 announced cooperation in the field of design, development, testing and implementation of advanced professions and skills for the development of high-tech industries and critical technologies.
The joint work of Web3 Tech and the Agency is aimed at general improvement of the skills and growth of the number of specialists in the technology of distributed registers in Russia and other countries and, among other things, should address the global shortage of professionals in the direction of blockchain technologies, as well as the standardization of professional skills in the young IT direction.
Annually, world GDP receives less than $5 trillion due to low labor productivity. The inability to find enough personnel with the right qualifications as countries transition to a digital economy becomes one of the main problems in the labor market. We constantly observe a significant lack of specialized expertise in the market. At the same time, in Russia, the demand for distributed registry technologies is growing annually and according to the Institute for Statistical Research and Economics of Knowledge (ISIEZ) of the Higher School of Economics, by 2030 it will reach 1 trillion rubles. Qualitative standardization of skills for such professions as a blockchain developer can lead to the acceleration of large-scale digital projects throughout the country and, in general, to an increase in GDP, "said Artem Kalikhov, CEO of Web3 Tech. |
As the partnership develops, organizations will develop many areas. The main vector of activity will be aimed at harmonizing industry, national and international standards of professions, technologies and skills related to blockchain competencies. This will be the basis for joint steps to independently assess and recognize the skills of specialists in accordance with the requirements of employers.
Within the framework of international cooperation, it is planned to create a professional community for blockchain competencies and their standardization, as well as develop training programs for training personnel in new skills and technologies.
We have reached such a stage in the development of the distributed register technology market, when we needed to standardize the accumulated expertise in the field of related professions and skills at the national and international levels. And we are glad to establish partnerships with the leading center of blockchain competencies - Web3 Tech. Joint work will create standards for professional work with blockchain technologies in a variety of fields, "said Robert Urazov, Director General of the Agency for the Development of Professions and Skills. |
In addition, joint market research is planned to identify promising technologies, professions and skills. According to the results of research, the Agency and Web3 Tech intend to create educational products and digital tools for the professional development of specialists in the field of distributed register technology.
Digital support for the development and implementation of new professions and technologies will be implemented using the International Platform for the Development of Skills and Professions inpdp.org. Platform services will create conditions for the formation of high-tech industries, the development of critical and end-to-end technologies in order to achieve technological independence of countries. The use of platform services will ensure the introduction in countries of practices of advanced development of industries and tools for training personnel in high-tech professions.

Opening of an expert non-profit blockchain center
On August 27, 2019, it became known that the Skolkovo Foundation and Waves Enterprise opened an expert non-profit blockchain center. The center will help introduce distributed registry technologies to large businesses and government agencies, develop the market for projects and products in Russia and abroad.
According to the Waves press service, the initiative to create the center belongs equally to both Waves and Skolkovo. By generating ideas for the practical use of blockchain, checking them, prototyping them, supporting promising startups and helping businesses implement blockchain, the center expects to popularize this technology in the country.
{{quote 'There is no separate position of the head of the blockchain center. His work of the center will be supervised by the head of Waves Enterprise Artem Kalikhov and the director of the Finance & Blockchain innovation center of the Skolkovo Foundation Pavel Novikov, Waves said. }}
The parties did not disclose the volume of investments.
The launch of the center is symbolic for us, since the center is an important link in the creation of the global Waves infrastructure as part of international expansion. This is a contribution to the development of technology, which is more important than the commercial interests of the company. The future lies with Web 3.0. Behind the next generation Internet with smart and decentralized services on the blockchain. The concept we are promoting implies effective synergy between public and private blockchain solutions, the end-to-end and ubiquity of decentralized applications and services. We understand that we need to help the authorities and large businesses integrate into this environment, implement existing developments, and educate the developers and universities themselves to train specialists, |
As of August 2019, there are no permanently employed employees in the center. Employees of Skolkovo, Waves and partners will be involved as needed and on a project basis.
Increasing trust and accelerating processes at all levels of the human-business-state system is a global challenge. Therefore, along with artificial intelligence, the technology of distributed registers was included in the list of road maps of the "Digital Economy." We are launching the Sk & Waves blockchain center primarily to find effective use cases and accelerate the adaptation of distributed registry technology in various sectors of the economy. We invite technology partners, corporations and representatives of the public sector to cooperate. With partners, we plan to test hypotheses, launch pilots and projects. Including cross-border ones that require careful work with regulators. Special attention of the center will be directed to the support of startups and the blockchain industry as a whole, |
Waves Enterprise, a division of Waves focused on corporate projects, will provide expert and analytical support to the blockchain center. Skolkovo and Waves expect the center's clients and partners to be large companies and departments that can simplify bureaucratic and business processes using technology. The center will introduce them to startups. Partners of the center can act as integrators, the Waves press secretariat said.
The center is going to invite world experts on the use of blockchain in business to Russia and organize its own educational programs[1].
