The market of BI systems in Russia grew by 15%

The research center TAdviser announced a release of the fourth annual overview "The BI Systems in Russia 2013". According to TAdviser, the market of the BI systems of Russia and the CIS countries (licenses and services) in 2012 almost overcame a mark of 40 billion rubles and made 39.675 billion that is 15% more, than the previous year (34.5 billion rubles). The growth rate of the market slowed down against 35% in 2011, but still remained quite considerable, advancing growth rates of the market of ICT in general and other segments of the market of business software.

At the end of 2012-2013 the "third wave" of implementations of BI connected with mastering by the Russian companies of new approaches to storage and data analysis began to form actively. Now in Russia test implementations and pilots in the field of big data and calculations in RAM are begun, many of which will turn into category of full implementations in 2013-2014. From the technology point of view the Russian market of BI does not test the slightest lag from world in respect of availability of advanced technologies, but their mastering only begins.

Existence of "the second wave" of implementations of BI is confirmed also by data of own base TAdviser. In own base of projects TAdviser the number of the registered implementations made 1178 for all history of observations (for May, 2013) that is 1.5 times more, than at the beginning of 2011 when in base there were 790 projects. Let's remind that from 2010 to 2011 growth of projects in base was more than double.

For the beginning of 2013 more than one and a half tens industrial BI platforms and a set of analysis systems and the reporting and also industry solutions were presented at the Russian market. Among more than 260 BI projects, completed according to TAdviser in 2012, a half fell on platforms QlikView IBM Cognos SAP BusinessObjects Contour BI Prognoz Platform, 130 more projects - on other systems and solutions.

Among implementers in 2012 Forecast and Loginom Company (before BaseGroup Labs Analytical technologies) as the vendors which are actively independently implementing the own platforms – Prognoz Platform and Deductor respectively were most active. Among integrators the activity of the companies ATK consulting group, RBC Group Ukraine, RDTECH, FORS and others was high.

In 2012-2013 on a proscenium of BI implementations the companies of the financial sector moved forward again. It is connected with a large number of projects on implementation of new analytical technologies and data warehouses which were implemented for the last 18 months. In Russia traditionally businesses with high marginality, such as financial services, a telecom and retail, the first master advanced technologies of informatization.

"The general trend of demand for BI solutions almost did not change - the demand of these solutions continues to grow, there is an evolutionary development of this direction and further formation of the market", - Olga Gorchinskaya, the director of research projects of FORS confirmed to TAdviser.Andrey Rozanov, the head BI of RDTECH company, also considers that BI systems at the moment "are very demanded". According to him, demand for analytics at representatives of medium business and also the competition among the companies implementers steadily grows.

Vendors also note active demand from the Russian companies for solutions of mobile analytics and data discovery.Vladimir Itkin, the development director of a partner network of QlikTech Russia, confirmed: "Today already every second client when choosing the BI platform and solution has obligatory criterion – work on mobile devices. Two-three years ago it was more bonus to the platform, than need. But mobile technologies were included firmly into our life, and now the tablet in hands of the non-management employee is not luxury".

Sergey Shestakov, the deputy CEO for business development Forecast, considers that applications of the class data discovery already won popularity at top management of the large companies, and in the near future will become the irreplaceable tool of the analysis of business processes in the most various spheres.
