2019: Managing Director of Yandex

In May 2019, Tigran Khudaverdyan was appointed managing director of the Yandex group of companies. This is a new position in the group. The group's general director remains the co-founder and main shareholder of Yandex Arkady Volozh. He will now, in his own words, concentrate on broader strategic tasks, according to reports. "Sheets

Yandex again completely rebuilt the management system. At the end of 2017, after the general director of Yandex, Alexander Shulgin, moved to Ozon, shareholders did not appoint a replacement for him, but divided his powers among several employees. Elena Bunina became the general director of the Russian Yandex LLC, she also retained the post of HR director of the group. Greg Abovsky became the operating director and retained the position of financial director of the group. Mikhail Parakhin became the technical director, and then the director of technology of the group. Each of them obeyed Vologa directly, representatives of Yandex spoke about the collective management of the company.

Of the three top managers, Parakhin possessed the greatest administrative weight in the group, according to many Yandex employees with whom Vedomosti communicated. Khudaverdyan also reported directly to Volosh, since Yandex.Taxi was separated into a separate company.

Some Vedomosti interlocutors suggested that Vologu needed such competition between top managers in order to choose a successor for the operational management of the company. Volozh himself spends the last two years most of his time not in Moscow, but in Israel, sources in Yandex told Vedomosti.

Now the managing director is the only direct subordinate of Volozh, says a representative of Yandex. Thus, Abovsky, as the operational and financial director of the group, as well as Bunin, as the general director of Yandex LLC, began to obey Khudaverdyan.

At the same time as the appointment of Tigran Khudaverdyan, it was announced that technology director Mikhail Parakhin was leaving Yandex - in August 2019, he and his family returned to the United States. After leaving, he will continue to advise Yandex and help at the level of the board of directors. The general director of Yandex.Taxi was appointed Daniil Shuleiko.

2020: Membership of the Board of Directors of Yandex

On October 29, 2020, Yandex shareholders at the annual meeting approved the updated composition of the board of directors. From it came the head of Sberbank German Gref, who has been on the council since 2014. Tigran Khudaverdian joined the updated board of directors. More details here.
