Election of Svetlana Yachevskaya as head of the board of directors of MKPAO Yandex
At the end of June 2024, the board of directors of MKPAO Yandex unanimously elected Svetlana Yachevskaya, a lawyer and member of the board of trustees of the European University, as its chairman. Read more here.
Board approval after change of ownership
In early June 2024, MKPAO Yandex approved the board of directors after the change of ownership. It included six people:
- Artyom Savinovsky, General Director of MKPAO Yandex and Yandex LLC;
- Svetlana Yachevskaya, lawyer, member of the Board of Trustees of the European University;
- Alexander Ivlev, independent consultant, formerly managing partner of EY CIS;
- Anton Sychev, Chief Financial Officer of Litasco Middle East, an independent member of the Board of Directors of Norilsk Nickel, formerly - Managing Director and one of the heads of Goldman Sachs in Russia and the CIS;
- Aleksandr Chachava, entrepreneur, founder of the venture capital fund LETA Capital, co-founder of the IT company PRO32.
- Alexey Yakovitsky, member of the board of directors of the Dutch Yandex N.V. from 2019 to 2024.
- Evgeny Yakushkin, consultant, previously worked in large technology and consulting companies, including AliExpress Russia, Microsoft, McKinsey & Company, Yakov and Partners.
- Pavel Dengin, Deputy General Director for Products of the specialized depository INFINITUM, member of the investment committee of the endowment fund of the Higher School of Economics;
- Andrei Betin, Executive Director of ANO "Russia - Country of Opportunities," Rector of the Management Workshop "Senezh," from 2023 to 2024 - Member of the Board of Directors of the Netherlands Yandex N.V.
According to the Yandex press service, Artyom Savinovsky and Svetlana Yachevskaya joined the board of directors from the company's management fund, Andrei Betin from the public interest fund, and the rest of the members are ZPIF Consortium. First.
MKPAO Yandex is the parent company of the Yandex group. Its main owner is ZPIF Consortium. First. The company's shares will be traded in the first quotation list under the ticker symbol YDEX on the Moscow Exchange from July 10, 2024.[1]
2020: Approval of a new board of directors
On October 29, 2020, Yandex shareholders at the annual meeting approved the updated board of directors. The head of Sberbank German Gref, who has been a member of the council since 2014, came out of it.
In the summer of 2020, after the closure of the transaction on the division of assets between Sberbank and Yandex, Gref admitted that he would not be re-elected for a new term. Gref's official resignation from the Yandex board of directors took place against the backdrop of news that Sberbank is fully buying out the Rambler Group stake from Alexander Mamut and becoming the sole owner of the company.
Shareholders re-elected co-founder and head of Yandex Arkady Volozh as executive director on the board for four years. Technical Director of Yandex Mikhail Parakhin was re-elected for a year as a non-executive director. The post of chairman of the board of directors of Yandex is held by John Boynton, president of the private investment company Firehouse Capital.
In addition, the updated board of directors included:
- Managing Director of the Yandex Group of Companies Tigran Khudaverdyan;
- Ilya Strebulaev, professor of finance at Stanford University Graduate School of Business;
- Wellville founder Esther Dyson;
- ex-head of the presidential administration of the Russian Federation Alexander Voloshin;

- VTB Capital CEO Alexei Yakovitsky;
- Aleksei Komissarov, Director General of ANO "Russia - Country of Opportunities";
- Rogge Riynia (previously held posts at Apple and a number of Dutch companies);
The main shareholder of Yandex is Arkady Volozh, until the last transactions he owned 9.84% of the capital and 48.48% of the company's votes. The company's institutional investors include Capital Group, Harding Loevner, Invesco and other large funds. Earlier in 2020, Yandex placed shares on the market within the SPO and in favor of a group of investors, as a result of which VTB, Ervington Investments Limited Roman Abramovich and Treliscope Limited Alexander Abramov and Alexander Frolov became holders of Yandex shares.[2]
