Biography

Born on August 02, 1971 in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg), he lived and worked in Russia, Singapore and Switzerland. He is a citizen of Singapore.

Sergey has a bachelor's degree in physics, a master's degree in physics and electrical engineering with honors, a candidate of technical sciences degree in Informatics from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.

In his student years, Sergei Belousov lived in the MIPT hostel on the same floor with the future founder of AVVUUDavid Yan. Once young people almost started a fight. Belousov, walking along the corridor, swore loudly, to which he received a harsh remark from Yan, who had a pregnant wife in the room. The dispute was resolved in words.

In the 1990s, Belousov began assembling and producing computers and accessories in Russia, becoming one of the founders of the later famous distributor Sunrise.

At the dawn of the 1990s, I started working in the computer assembly business, and in 1994, together with a partner, I opened Falcon Computers, which was one of the first computer and server manufacturers in Russia. Later, having sold Falcon Computers, we organized Rolsen, which became a major manufacturer of TVs and other home electronics, with a turnover of more than $500 million per year and a staff of over 3 thousand people^[1].

A few years later, Belousov left Sunrise and founded Standard & Western with a partner, which initially assembled computers and televisions, and later turned into Rolsen, a major consumer electronics manufacturer. In parallel with Rolsen, Belousov began experimenting with software development and at some point completely switched to this direction.

1996: Founding of Solomon Software

1996, I created Solomon Software SEA in Singapore to refine and distribute the American Solomon IV ERP system in Southeast Asia. In June 2000, we sold Solomon Software to another company - ​Great Plains Software, and at the end of the same year the combined business was bought by Microsoft Corporation for $1.1 billion. Microsoft renamed Solomon IV to Microsoft Dynamics SL, continuing to develop and promote this product.
