Fortune - $1.08 billion
In early April 2024, Yuri Maksimov became a new dollar billionaire with Russian citizenship. This happened after the rise in stock prices of Positive Technologies, which the businessman founded.
According to Forbes, on April 1, 2024, the Positive Technologies quotation rate on the Moscow Exchange amounted to 2910 rubles per share, as a result of which the market value of Yuri Maksimov's share in the company amounted to about 100 billion rubles, or $1.08 billion at the rate of the Bank of Russia at that time. In the first three months of 2024, the securities of the manufacturer of information security software rose in price by 43%, the newspaper notes. Analysts at the broker VTB My Investments at the end of March 2024 included Positive Technologies in the top 10 most promising shares in the Russian stock market.
According to Forbes, Maksimov became the third Russian businessman to become a dollar billionaire, earning capital from software. Earlier, the largest shareholder of Astra Group Denis Frolov and founder of Kaspersky Lab Yevgeny Kaspersky managed the same.
The magazine recalls that initially Yuri Maksimov, his brother and Evgeny Kireev owned equal shares in Positive Technologies, but gradually Yuri's partners retired, and the shares were redistributed between the new leaders of the company. By the beginning of April 2024, Yuri Maksimov owns 51.88% of the shares of the Group Positive holding.
Creation of information security company together with the largest shareholder of AFK Sistema Vladimir Yevtushenkov
At the end of May 2024, it became known that the founders of AFK Sistema Vladimir Yevtushenkov and the holding Group Positive Yuri Maksimov are creating a joint venture in the field of cybersecurity. The new company will develop products and develop the service business.
According to Forbes, Yevtushenkov, the largest shareholder of AFK Sistema, told about the project. According to him, the enterprise will be represented in different segments of the cybersecurity market, and the product range will be developed with a focus on the AFK Sistema ecosystem, which has companies from the telecommunications, IT and microelectronics sectors. It is possible that in the future the structure will become a public company.
As of the end of May 2024, Yevtushenkov does not disclose the volume of investments in the project and the structure of the owners of the enterprise. In turn, Maksimov said that the organization may have many shareholders. They will be divided into two groups: the first will represent the "cybersecurity industry," and the second - AFK Sistema. Such a structure will ensure parity. From the field of cybersecurity, the Cyberus Foundation, one of the founders of which is Maksimov, will participate in the enterprise.
The new enterprise will have to compete, among other things, with Positive Group, which is already operating in the cybersecurity market. At the same time, the Positive Group itself does not participate in the project. In addition, there are no plans for AFK Sistema to join Positive Group.
We need to remain competitors in order to create the best solutions and be partners, because only by creating a national cybersecurity product that we can offer for export, the Russian cybersecurity industry will be able to occupy a key role in the world, "Maksimov emphasized.[1] |
