On April 2, 2020, Directum announced that its Directum Solo application now supports a mobile electronic digital signature in full compliance with the legislation of the Republic of Belarus.

On the territory of the Republic of Belarus, documents signed with an electronic digital signature (EDS) have the same legal significance as documents signed with their own hand on paper.

At the same time, the entire process was built in compliance with the requirements of the Law of the Republic of Belarus "On Electronic Document and Electronic Digital Signature." The solution was developed by Directum partner Novak Systems.

The advantage of such a signing is that it does not require the use of a separate device - a March card or USB token - all functions are performed by a specialized SIM card that supports SIMiD technology.

The user selects the document and clicks the Sign button in the Directum Solo interface. The mobile application first accesses the SIM owner identification and authentication service and then the EDS generation service to calculate the hash value. At the same time, the user needs to enter two PIN codes accordingly in response to requests. The entire process takes no more than 20 seconds.

Electronic signature processing is carried out through a certified one, ON which implements a set of national standard ones, cryptographic algorithms stores a personal EDS key and performs cryptographic operations with it inside the SIM, while the key does not leave the SIM limits.

Interaction is carried out over a secure connection. The EDS data is sent to the Directum system and associated with the corresponding document, and information about the fact of signing becomes available in the Directum Solo interface. The format of the generated electronic document complies with the requirements of the security standards adopted in the Republic of Belarus and is of legal importance.
