2023: Proposal to include pre-installed software for smartphones

On March 9, 2023, the CRPT announced that the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation proposed to include the Honest Sign mobile application in the list of programs preinstalled on smartphones sold in Russia.

The document specifies that according to the specified class, the Honest SIGN application will be included in the list of programs that must be pre-installed on certain types of equipment.

The list of preinstalled programs has already included Public services, the Mir Pay payment system, Yandex and VK applications, the 2GIS navigator and Kaspersky Lab antivirus.

The law on the pre-installation of domestic software was signed by the President of Russia in December 2019. For the refusal of the importer or manufacturer to install Russian software on gadgets, fines are provided from 30 thousand rubles to 200 thousand rubles.

The HONEST SIGN mobile application is part of the state system for labeling goods. As of March 2023, it was downloaded by more than 9 million people who checked almost 120 million products. The application allows you to check the legality of the product by scanning the code, and in case of violation, report it to the control authorities in a few clicks.

2021: Availability at Huawei AppGallery

The Center for the Development of Promising Technologies on November 1, 2021 announced that it was expanding the audience of users of the Honest SIGN mobile application. Now it is also released for smartphones of the Huawei and Honor brands and is available in the AppGallery.

Using the Honest SIGN application, each consumer can check the legality of the purchased product and verify its quality. It is enough to scan the DataMatrix code from the package to get all the necessary information about the purchase: by whom and when the product was produced, the expiration date, whether the product can be on sale.

The application has a fairly extensive functionality. A search for drugs in nearby pharmacies and an alarm clock for drugs are available. In the application you can get acquainted with articles about counterfeit and falsification. Some products have already been checked by experts from Roskachestvo and have a Quality Mark, laboratory test results are available for them. In addition, tasks and promotions are regularly held in the application, as a result of which cash prizes are played.

Previously, the Honest SIGN app was only available on the AppStore and Google Play for iOS and Android users. It was installed for November 2021 by more than 4.6 million people and scanned more than 60 million goods.
