Jisp is a digital platform for retail. trade Application Jisp and its infrastructure were created by a joint team Jisp WaveAccess from scratch.

Add AR Extension

IT-the company WaveAccess on December 23, 2021 announced the creation AR of an expansion for the the British retail Jisp platform.

Jisp AR is a tool as part of the comprehensive Jisp application, the development of which the WaveAccess team has been engaged in for many years.

To do this, go with the phone on which the application is installed to the partner store and put the phone on the barcode with the price tag of the goods on the shelf. On the phone screen in augmented reality, the new price of the item will be displayed.

For most buyers, this is a pleasant bonus from using Jisp. But for deeper involvement, all conditions are created: by scanning a special QR code in the store, you can get a catalog with all the discounts that are available thanks to Jisp. You can only use the discount by scanning the barcode on a shelf with a specific item. It turns out an interesting game, during which Jisp users "hunt" for discounts.

With Jisp AR there is no need to print magazines with coupons, which saves the store budget. And it is more profitable for the buyer himself to shop through Jisp. The solution was liked by retailers and customers and has already provided Jisp with a stable growth of unique registrations.

Composition of Jisp retail digitalization ecosystem

As of June 2021, the Jisp retail digitalization ecosystem includes:

  • a mobile application for customers that simplifies the shopping process,
  • IoT devices for contactless shopping and tracking shoppers' movements through the store,
  • internal payment system JispPay,
  • analytics system for brands and retail chains, which allows to increase the efficiency of using display cases.

2018: Tap & Go Shopping App

On August 13, 2018, WaveAccess announced the development of a combined B2B and B2C shopping solution for Jisp, a Tap & Go feature that allows you to make one-touch purchases.

Tap & Go is introduced in UK stores selling groceries, pharmaceuticals, gifts, electronics, jewelry, clothing, etc.

According to the developer, Tap & Go allows you to make purchases, leveling queues and the need to pay with a card or cash. To use the service, you need smartphone to bring to a special Jisp sticker on the shelf with the item. To scan barcode not required. The item automatically enters the virtual shopping cart, phone its price and description appear on the screen. You can change the quantity of the selected items or add the product to the list of future purchases. After confirming the selection, you must attach the phone to the check-out counter - the payment amount will be withdrawn from the customer's credit card through the payment system. JispPay When purchasing alcoholic beverages, the application will ask the client to wait for a store employee to check age. The retailer can mark any product as requiring additional verification upon purchase.

Tap & Go Shopping App

According to the developer, the Tap & Go solution allows you to accelerate the shopping process 3 times. Queues are reduced, customers are more comfortable in the store - this guarantees an influx of customers. Tap & Go aggregates data on purchases made, the order of selection of goods and rejected units, allowing retailers to make personalized offers, connect users to loyalty programs, and arrange relevant marketing activities. The ability to inform customers about promotions through the application also eliminates the cost of distributing advertising brochures.

The retailer can remotely update product and price information in the system in real time. Also in your personal account is available statistics about customers. Tap & Go quickly integrates with existing POS systems, which allows you to correctly display transaction information, according to the WaveAccess.

To display information about the item on the smartphone and contactless payment, use the NFC wireless data transfer technology (Near-Field Communication, or "near-contact contactless communication"). Low-range high-frequency communication technology allows communication between devices located at a distance of about 10 cm. The NFC module is equipped with most modern models of smartphones and tablets on Android (versions at least 5.0 depending on the model) and iOS (starting from iPhone 7). Communication between the client (telephone) and the server in real time is implemented using a set of server and client libraries SignalR.

"The modern generation of customers otherwise consumes information and wants to receive it on the phone. Tap & Go allows you to create shopping lists, make menus and recipes, evaluate products and share information with other users, analyze your own costs and a grocery cart - all with a mobile phone. This makes shopping not only convenient, but also interactive. Tap & Go is designed to shift focus from online shopping to retail outlets in the offline space and, thereby, return customers to classic retail. "

2017: Jisp Features

As of 2017, Jisp is an ecosystem that includes, mobile application an extension for browser and Jisp tags based on iBeacon technology from Apple Inc. Tags, or beacons, turn offline store goods into a network of smart things that are collected and transmitted. data The system is self-learning and takes into account changes in user interests.

Walking around the store and trying on clothes, the consumer "tells" the retailer a story about his tastes, shares his choice. In return, he receives personal discounts and favorable offers. Thus, the user's conversion path becomes transparent: offline beacons "lead" him, and online - the Jisp application and Jisp extension for the browser, explained in the WaveAccess.

Computer-based training processes a constantly growing database of thousands of goods, distributing them into categories and subcategories. Each user, based on the data provided to him and the purchase history, receives a personalized list of goods and special offers from nearby stores. So shopping becomes personalized: the client receives only relevant offers that meet his preferences, the developers emphasized.

Information about the product (name, description, brand, category) is uploaded to the system, where it is processed by the machine learning algorithm together with the database of available products. The processed information is sent to the classifier, which automatically determines the type and category of the item:

According to the developers, the advisory system for users has two branches: one uses the information provided by the user about itself, and the second uses its history.

For customers who are not buying goods in the store for the first time, the recommendations are based on the following scheme:

  • Information about purchases, behavior on the site and all categories of products from the site are processed by an algorithm based on decision trees. The system results in a list of products that may be of interest to the user.
  • Further, this list and user information, also processed by the machine learning algorithm, are combined in a ranking algorithm, and a visitor to the site sees a personal list of potentially interesting products.

If the user has not provided personal data, only history is used. If the system does not have data about the user and it has too little history, the most popular products are offered until the system can adapt.

Some of the technologies that have helped to meet these challenges are:

"Our project fundamentally changes the principle of communication with buyers, processing data on purchasing choices online and offline. Perhaps in a few years every major retailer will use a similar application, "said Alexander Azarov, project curator, Senior Vice President of Engineering, WaveAccess.

"The Jisp project has become a missing link between online and offline sales channels for retailers. It helps to better understand what and why the user is looking for, to create suggestions interesting to him. Large stores can optimize traffic: during sales, reduce queues at cash desks, in the 'dead' period - increase it, "said Julian Fisher, partner and client of WaveAccess in London.
