The operator claims that he offered this opportunity to the world's[1]
The card is already issued at Megafon offices in Moscow, St. Petersburg and a number of other cities, from October 1, 2016 it will be issued at the operator's offices throughout Russia. Card service is free, receiving a card for subscribers of the All Inclusive package tariff is also free, for the rest - p100. Up to ten cards for all family members can be issued for one account.
With a card, you can pay for goods and services wherever MasterCard is accepted, including on the Internet, as well as withdraw cash from it at an ATM. In addition, the card supports NFC wireless payment technology.
Features of the bank card "Megafon"
Replenishment of the card is carried out in the same ways as replenishment of the account with the cellular operator. The card issuer is Round Bank, but current funds will be stored in a Megafon account and transferred to the bank only during payments.
A feature of the card is the payment of 8% per annum to the account balance, that is, the subscriber can receive interest on the amount of funds held by the operator. Also, when paying from a number of partners (Shokoladnitsa coffee shops, Wabi Sabi restaurants, Expedition chain of stores, Cast Iron Bridge restaurant, etc.), the subscriber will receive a refund to his account (cashback) up to 10% of the amount spent.
In addition, the transfer of funds to the cards of other Megafone subscribers will be carried out free of charge. When withdrawing cash, the commission will be charged at 2.5%. When receiving a card, the subscriber is activated free services to protect against unauthorized content subscriptions, which should protect funds on the card from accidental debits.
Megafon sees several scenarios at once when it will be convenient to use their map. This is payment for goods on the Internet and linking to mobile applications; payment for freelancers (for example, nannies) - it is enough to put money on their phone; transferring money to relatives in another city; using a card abroad (in case of exhaustion of funds, friends and relatives will be able to easily replenish the card); the first bank card for the child with the ability to control expenses on the part of parents via SMS.
SmartVista-based processing
The processing of the bank card "Megafon" and the bank "Round" is carried out on the basis of SmartVista solutions. This is stated in the statement of the BOC. Since the card account is tied to the subscriber's mobile account, this makes it possible to access payments not only to existing Megafon users, but also to the general population, previously not covered by financial services.
Within the framework of this project, BPC Bank Technologies acted as a developer, vendor and integrator of the processing system commissioned by InPlat Technologies (a technological partner of this project). BPC Bank Technologies solutions, part of the SmartVista family of products, are the basis of the processing center, providing the production and management of card products, e-commerce, SMS banking.
Billing based on Peter-Service BRT (Billing Real-Time)
Peter-Service expanded the capabilities of its own BRT (Billing Real-Time) product in the summer of 2016. Thanks to the implementation of the "mobile commerce" option in BRT, mobile operators can now use the subscriber's billing account as a bank card account. Opportunities have found their application in the project bank card "MegaFon."
The "mobile commerce" option is implemented as a number of new features added to the BRT. It allows you to simplify the interaction of operator billing and banking infrastructure. With its help, operators can link a subscriber's account with a bank card account, giving the subscriber the opportunity to make payments by card using a phone account.
BRT was chosen as the product that will be responsible for the interaction of the subscriber's account with the bank card, since it most closely meets the requirements for the speed and volume of transactions for payment services. BRT is widely implemented by Peter-Service customer companies as the Online Charging System (OCS) and provides real-time transactions with the subscriber's mobile account.
After a set of improvements related to the implementation of the "mobile commerce" option, BRT began to support operations on a bank card linked to a phone account. BRT has made a number of changes to meet all the requirements for bank card payments - in particular, the ability to cancel transactions in real time has been added.
The capabilities of BRT "Peter-Service" have found their application in the project bank card "MegaFon." Within the framework of the project, operator billing interacts with the MegaLabs payment gateway responsible for card transactions. Thanks to the use of BRT, the interaction of the subscriber account in MegaFon with the payment gateway takes place at the speed necessary to carry out the usual operations for users, such as payment in stores, online payments, withdrawal of money from ATMs.
Neoflex and Oracle Service Bus
Neoflex has implemented a project to integrate the IT systems of Bank Round LLC and MegaFon PJSC, which are necessary for the implementation of the processes of issuing and subsequent maintenance of bank cards provided to subscribers of the telecom operator. The project, based on a service-oriented architecture (SOA), was built using the Oracle Service Bus platform .
During the project, which lasted about eight months, Neoflex specialists conducted a comprehensive survey of the bank and MegaFon systems involved in the issue and maintenance of new cards, as well as optimized common business processes. Integration requirements were jointly developed for all systems involved in the work of the card, an integration bus was introduced on the Oracle Service Bus platform, and more than 50 services were implemented, including services for authorizing card operations, which are subject to special performance and fault tolerance requirements.
The future plans of the telecom operator include the integration of a bank card into SIM cards of Russian subscribers. Thus, the possibility of contactless payment for goods and services will soon appear in those whose phones support NFC technology.
