The technical update includes optimizing and improving the operation of a number of commands and functions of Model Studio CS and CADLib. In particular, the work with comments in the expertise window has been improved, navigation through the 3D model in the new visualizer and the ability to work with notes through the BCF file have been implemented. A command for automated reinforcement of columns also appeared, the dynamic operation of reinforcement elements and the creation of monolithic floors and metal plates around the circle were provided.

Among other things, Model Studio CS implemented the creation/intersection of driveways and the layout of concrete slabs along the driveways, the KSI base was updated. In addition, adjustments were made to the aerodynamic calculation in case of pressure loss, the mechanism for setting the direction for equipment units was improved, the method of checking for collisions during the arrangement of fire detectors, as well as the construction of OPS zones were adjusted.

SiSoft Development has completed all work on the project to modernize the Model Studio CS BIM system Construction solutions, which makes it possible to ensure the implementation of the current requirements of state expertise for data exchange.   • developed functionality for export/import of estimated properties in APC format. The Model Studio CS BIM system and CADLib CMS Model and Archive form an APC format file based on 3D model objects with assigned estimate properties, which can be subsequently loaded into the estimate software for calculation and refinement of the estimate. CDS CADLib Model and Archive implement settings for notification of changes in stored and/or changed APC data;
  • implemented an interface for the export/import of 3D models of capital construction facilities into IFC format. The functionality allows you to exchange graphic and text information based on BIM (Building Information Modeling) technology, as well as work with versions of IFC2x3 and IFC4. Export and import tools provide the ability to configure and map information model parameters and IFC classes. Customizable IFC4 export allows data exchange with MGE (Mosgosexpertiza) and/or CGE (Lengosexpertiza) based on IFC 4 specifications. The CADLib Model and Archive IMS implements settings for notification of changes in stored and/or changed IFC data. A tool has been implemented to track changes when importing IFC files that store unique unchangeable object identifiers;

Implementation of information model coding functionality according to the construction information classifier of the Ministry of Construction of Russia

On March 15, 2021, SiSoft Development, a domestic developer of the Model Studio CS integrated design and life cycle support system for capital construction facilities, announced that, with the support of the Russian Information Technology Development Fund, it was implementing the coding functionality of Model Studio CS information models (BIM models) according to the construction information classifier (KSI) of the Ministry of Construction of Russia.

The order of the President of the Russian Federation PR-1235 of 19.07.2018 defines a number of tasks in the field of modernization of the construction industry and improving the quality of construction. Among these tasks is the transition to a system for managing the life cycle of capital construction facilities by introducing information modeling technologies, adopting information modeling standards, harmonizing previously adopted regulatory and technical documents with Russian and international legislation, as well as stimulating the use of domestic software for information modeling of buildings and structures.

As part of solving these problems, a construction information classifier (KSI) was created - a resource that distributes data on capital construction objects and information associated with them in accordance with the classification (classes, groups, types and other characteristics).

The methodological basis of the classifier consists of the results of applied scientific research, as well as regulatory legal acts defining the rules for the formation and maintenance of the CSR and the information model of the capital construction facility (BIM), the structure and composition of the CSR.

Modernization of the Model Studio CS system Construction solutions and its integration with KSI are aimed at significantly increasing automation in the development of information models, the release of documentation and the preparation of the model for examination - taking into account import substitution programs, which, in accordance with regulatory legal acts, should bring the share of domestic software in purchases of state-owned companies to 70% by 2024.

The Russian Information Technology Development Fund (RFRIT), which supports projects for the development of domestic digital products and contributes to the digital transformation of companies, as a result of an open competitive selection, supported the SiSoft Development project for the development of the domestic BIM-system Model Studio CS Construction solutions.

  • Update of data export/import module to/from START system.
  • Updated functionality for solving cable routing problems in pipe routes. The construction of pipe routes is carried out not only by sketching methods using generalized parts (approximate dimensions, nominal diameters, lack of information about the manufacturer), but also in design mode, when exact diameters, exact dimensions and accurate information about products are used (use of minicatalogs).
  • Updated functionality for grounding system design. Specialized facilities have been developed: earthing strip, vertical earthing electrodes and earthing grid. The functionality allows you to design the grounding system taking into account the terrain, and is also endowed with the ability to automatically detect grounding points on equipment and structures with the subsequent connection of the grounding strip to these points.
  • Parametric Object Editor. Additional technologies of parameterization of objects are proposed: extrusion body, centerlines, additional "handles."
  • Rolled Metal Editor. The updated rolled metal editor allows you to select metal profiles from the database based on filtering, edit references and basic profile parameters, search for rolled metal in model space according to the specified parameters.
  • Advanced functionality for working with KM assemblies. The weight of the metal product is automatically calculated. Changes in the assembly composition are monitored when the assembly is edited or the block composition is replaced. The number and composition of subordinate elements are calculated in real time.
  • Work with welded joints. Use this tool to create a Weld object to connect two rolled metal elements to an automatic display in 2D drawings.
  • Wall capabilities. The wall is created through an updated dialog box with basic functions and construction. In modeling, the wall automatically mates at the corners of rotation and junctions with the same priority feature. Additional surface editing "grips" make it easier to change the geometric dimensions of the wall.
  • Added a command to draw bent pipe runs. The team provides improved functionality for constructing bent sections of pipelines for various purposes. Intuitive features for editing such parcels have been added.
  • Added peer review tools for handling comments. The proposed tools allow you to create comments, respond to them and correspond to each individual comment. It is possible to bind files, screenshots and 3D objects.
  • Maintain project parameters within the database. All settings for working with files and database structures are concentrated in the parameters of the database project. The settings are now centrally performed by the project administrators.
  • Centralized work with tasks. On the basis of the Message Manager tool, it became possible to issue tasks, bind publications and 3D objects to tasks, respond to tasks and track the process of working with them.
  • The publishing system has been optimized and accelerated. A specialized palette of publications has been implemented. The updated palette allows you to track the publishing process of all files, restore and delete publications.

2019: Model Studio CS 3.0

On May 15, 2019, CSoft announced the release of the third version of the integrated 3D information design system Model Studio CS. Updated 3D design tools and tools enable you to create a 3D information model for all design areas and engineering specialties. The complex system has significantly redesigned existing products and a solution has appeared - "Model Studio CS Electrical Diagrams."

As noted in CSoft, the presented version of the integrated information three-dimensional design system Model Studio CS 3.0 works on the basis of the Russian platform nanoCAD 11, as well as on foreign software AutoCAD 2020 − 2015.

According to CSof, as of May 2019, the version is released with support for nanoCAD 11 and AutoCAD 2020 − 2015. Legal users with a valid subscription will be able to take advantage of all the capabilities of Model Studio CS 3.0. For legal customers with expired subscriptions, the updated version will not be available. To do this, they must update the license files before installing and receive an additional upgrade license for free.

2017: Model Studio CS

We were seriously preparing for this event - the release of a version of the Model Studio CS integrated 3D design system. An important task that was solved was the creation of a full-fledged system of comprehensive 3D design with the ability to store information in a single database and the access of engineers of each specialty to 3D project data (both in general and to related parts of the model developed by designers of other specialties). We have developed a technology that implements the main world directions for the development of engineering software in construction - the creation of digital information models of construction objects.

2013: Model Studio CS Outdoor Switchgears

On August 23, 2013, the CSoft group of companies announced the release of CSoft Development of a new version of Model Studio CS Open Switchgears.

Model Studio CS Open Switchgears

Model Studio CS Open switchgears have all the necessary tools for assembling and issuing design/working documentation for open switchgears (OPC), calculating the mechanical part of flexible bus bars of open switchgears and inputs of overhead power lines of electric stations and substations.

Model Studio CS Open Switchgear is an AutoCAD-based software package that includes AutoCAD Architecture, AutoCAD Civil 3d, AutoCAD MEP, and more.

Model Studio CS intelligent objects, endowed with their own behavior, use modern calculation and analysis algorithms, allowing the designer to receive in real time all the necessary technical information for making engineering decisions. Objects contain the necessary and sufficient set of parameters that are used during design and documentation, as well as when exporting parameters to other systems.

Data Base Model Studio CS has a built-in system of classifiers and samples that help the user quickly find equipment, products and materials, familiarize themselves with their characteristics and place them on the model.

The flexible system of developing and replenishing a database of intelligent objects with developed ergonomics makes it easy to create new parametric components (equipment, products and materials) and allows you to expand the composition of a single database of equipment, products and materials. You can use previously created components and libraries, including existing AutoCAD blocks and type tables.

The Model Studio CS complex has undergone thorough ergonomic testing, on the basis of which special tools have been developed that allow you to master three-dimensional design in a short time. One of these tools is a tool for quickly moving from a three-dimensional to a two-dimensional view. This feature allows you to design on a familiar 2D plan and switch to 3D mode with one click for spatial model analysis. In the process of designing open switchgears using the Model Studio CS software, the designer can simultaneously solve two problems, obtaining the real location of the equipment in space and the layout of the equipment.

Model Studio CS Open switchgears are equipped with a built-in mechanical wire calculation subsystem, which automatically calculates the wire length, tension, sag boom, as well as other parameters and, as a result, draws a wire sag curve. Mechanical calculation is performed in accordance with PUE 7. The calculation takes into account not only the properties of the wire and climatic loads, but also loads from fastening fittings, garlands, other equipment and wires.

The sagging curve is modeled by the chain line equation to improve the accuracy of the calculation results. The calculation subsystem works in real time: at the moment when the wire is drawn, the calculation is performed automatically. In the future, it is updated every time conditions change (for example, when moving or changing the height of the portal, the sagging curves are instantly recalculated and rebuilt). The same happens when you change any parameters that affect wire sagging. It is important that if desired, the designer can view all design modes.

Based on the results of mechanical calculation, installation booms and wire weights are determined, and a report is generated for each cell of an open switchgear.


Depending on the voltage of the line, the phase structure can be either a single-chain or a multi-chain line with different insulator strings. The Model Studio CS software package solves the problem of three-dimensional representation of multi-chain wire lines and insulator strings, which allows during the design process not only to clearly present the implementation of the project, but also to document all objects of complex phase design.

In projects, garlands can be used, the composition of which is different from what is presented in the database, therefore, to simplify the work of the designer, a special tool Garland Designer is provided, which allows you to quickly create a new garland - from scratch or based on an existing one.

Model Studio CS has a powerful tool for checking the permissible distances between objects and current-carrying parts. Distances between wires, equipment, wires and equipment are monitored. The system analyzes collisions between objects based on settings that regulate distances in plan and vertically. Information about collisions detected during the verification process is displayed both graphically and in a tabular form.

One of the most popular features implemented in Model Studio CS is work based on typical solutions: assemblies and typical solutions are stored in the complex database along with equipment, products and materials. For example, if a designer saves a cell in the Model Studio CS database by building a cell, you can then insert the cell itself into the project instead of each piece of equipment individually. The use of standard solutions allows you to significantly reduce the time for the implementation of projects, the ability to edit a standard solution allows you to take into account all the requirements of the customer, and the built-in calculation system instantly updates all the results of calculations.

For the convenience of working with a 3D model, there is a virtual specifier - a special dialog box that is always available for viewing and displays the composition of the model in a table of a given shape. The figure shows a virtual specifier with a custom BOM form, showing both the form of information representation (as a BOM) and the relationship between the table and the model: the selected BOM row automatically highlights the corresponding items on the model.

As a modern design system, the Model Studio CS software package allows you to form and issue a complete set of design documentation: drawings, sections, sections with dimensions, table documents in formats MS Word, MS Excel, AutoCAD, adaptable to the design organization standard - with frames, stamps, emblems, etc.


When you create documents, you use view and section tools, the automatic position, dimension, and leader subsystem, and other tools. In addition to the GOST-based drafting rules, you can customize additional, custom drafting rules for sections and drawing plans-this feature is provided by a special ergonomic wizard that allows you to create, store, import, and export dimensioning profiles.


To automatically generate BOMs, explications, and other table documents, a powerful tool is provided that makes it possible to generate a table in both an AutoCAD drawing Microsoft , Excel, and Microsoft word.

Information on the position, coordinates, dimensions, parameters of the equipment can be transferred to other applications, which allows for an integrated approach to design. Working together with other CAD systems (ElectriCS 3d, ElectriCS Storm, ElectriCS Light, etc.) allows Model Studio CS Open switchgears to take a worthy place in complex solutions for designing power supply systems.
