2023: Work on the Aurora OS

According to Vladimir Troyanovsky, Deputy General Director of the NSPK, despite the correctness of the software solution, companies have yet to finalize the SBP under Aurora for its full-fledged commissioning:

Completion of preparation of NWS for industrial implementation for payment using NFC via NWS

On June 29, 2022, NSPK announced that it had completed preparations for the industrial implementation of SBPei for payment using NFC through the Fast Payment System. This means that banks connected to the SBP can implement POS infrastructure and terminal software.

According to experts, with the active support of the NFC tag from the National Payment Card System and the relative ease of payment operations, Russia may soon expect a boom in the use of NFC technologies for payment.

According to the decision of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, the payment application "SBPei" is mandatory for Russian banks participating in the Fast Payment System from April 2022. It is reported that the developers are working to ensure that customers can pay through SBPei simply by attaching a smartphone to the terminal - using NFC. In addition, another contactless payment service is available to Russians - Mir Pay from the Mir payment system. 2021: NFC testing

On December 20, 2021, NSPK announced the completion of testing contactless payment based on NFC technology in the SBPei application. It is planned that in 2022 this feature will appear in the application. To make a payment, you will need to attach a smartphone with an SBP application to a special label or other device that transmits a payment link to the SBP using NFC technology. Bank Russian Standard and INPAS have developed a special terminal that allows you to accept payment in this way.

One-touch payment will be available in retail outlets where the SBP payment link is transmitted using NFC technology. This can be implemented using, for example, an NFC tag or a seller's smartphone, to which you will need to attach a phone with a loaded SBP application to make a payment.

This payment method will be available to customers of credit institutions that supported the application. As of December 2021, this is the Russian Standard Bank and SKB-Bank.

It is planned that by April 2022, all banks with a universal license, including systemically important ones, will provide their customers with the opportunity to pay for goods and services using SBPei.

The solution meets all current safety standards. The reliability of operations through the application is ensured on the side of the Bank of Russia, NSPK and participating banks of the SBP.

NSPK plans to release application updates, making SBPei more comfortable for buyers and businesses.
