A company from the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Technopolice Moscow is preparing for serial production of components for the Smart Farm cattle monitoring system. In 2022, the JSC «Proton» plant will launch a line of components for the Smart Farm, which will monitor the condition of animals: temperature, diet, drinking and sleep, as well as the condition of some internal organs. The system proposed by Russian scientists was tested in real conditions, it was tested for 1.5 months on a farm in the Sverdlovsk region, - said Vladislav Ovchinsky.

The main element of the system is a sealed capsule with sensors. The animal swallows it, it remains in the stomach and fixes all the necessary parameters. The system also includes a limp sensor that monitors the movement of animals using the navigation module. It is important that the animal does not experience unpleasant sensations.

According to the developers, Smart Farm will cost significantly cheaper than foreign counterparts, help optimize the costs of farmers, increase the yield from each cow by 2-3 liters per day and control the quality of milk. Information from the sensors is transmitted to the operator's computer via the base station.

Work on the creation of the "Smart Farm" was completed at MIET at the end of 2021. Before testing in real conditions, she underwent all the necessary experimental procedures. Tests at the farm helped scientists refine its functionality to accurately assess the performance and quality of communication with the base station. Eight cows participated in the experiment.
