Termit is a solution for providing remote access to applications and virtual desktops VDI (). Termit 2.2 with LDAP SSL and LDAP StartTLS support

Orion soft released an updated version of the terminal access system Term 2.2. It supports additional LDAP directories, connects user network disks, supports LDAP SSL and LDAP StartTLS. The updates have improved the security of the system and expanded its use in terms of working with. data The developer announced this on September 19, 2024.

This version of the solution allows you to connect user network drives by setting their parameters at the server group level. When a user connects to a session, all the specified network drives on which the data is stored automatically become available to the user. When running applications or desktops, the administrator can centrally configure the connection.

Term 2.2 increases the list of supported LDAP directory services, including Russian ones. LDAP is an open protocol for storing and receiving data from directories that store various information about an organization, users. To synchronize data, you can use the default settings or make changes to meet the requirements of your company's IT infrastructure. Support for Russian directory services is relevant for customers in solving software import substitution problems.

Also in Term 2.2, support for LDAP SSL and LDAP StartTLS protocols is implemented. They provide a means to encrypt data transferred between clients and LDAP servers. The transmission of user credentials and the exchange of messages between the terminal access system and the LDAP directory pass through secure communication channels. This ensures secure authentication and authorization of users, prevents the possibility of data interception and unauthorized access to sensitive information.

The Term system is initially focused on Enterprise-level companies, for which information security issues are an absolute priority today. Therefore, we have worked on strengthening our product not only in terms of functionality, but also in terms of information security. The updated solution will allow companies to build additional levels of protection for the IT infrastructure, ensure its operation in accordance with internal security policies and regulatory requirements. Term 2.2 also provides support for Syslog, an external address for the broker, setting the depth of storage of the event log and the history of closed user sessions, and account blocking policies. The API for monitoring the state of brokers has been finalized. The UI of the administrator and desktop client portal has been improved, which makes working with the system more convenient and easier.

At the end of 2024, the developers are planning the release of Term 2.3, which will implement major improvements: integration with external monitoring systems, new types of authentication to improve security, as well as an updated approach to managing applications with the possibility of their convenient categorization.

Compatibility with CryptoPro CSP

Orion soft has tested the compatibility of its own terminal access system Term with the CryptoPro CSP solution. The products work seamlessly - the customer does not need to independently customize them or install additional software. The Term system is included in the Register of Russian Software (No. 5356 dated 06.05.2019) and meets the requirements of the import substitution regulations. Orion soft announced this on July 2, 2024.

Joint use of solutions allows safe application of electronic signature in the terminal environment in accordance with Federal Law No. 63-FZ "On Electronic Signature" using corporate and personal devices. Compatibility with Rutoken EDS 3.0, Rutoken Lite and Rutoken SCR 3001

Compatibility with ESMART key media

Term 2.1 with support for Windows servers

With the advent of version 2.1, it became possible for Term to publish applications and a desktop to a Windows server and reconnect to a terminal session. It also became possible to manage session timeouts and sort and filter on the administrator portal pages. In addition, now it is enough for the user to enter the password once when starting the desktop client.

Also, version 2.1 added connection files and implemented smart card forwarding when using Windows terminal servers. Numerous improvements and improvements to the user interface have also been made, as well as errors of previous versions have been fixed.

Earlier, Term had already closed most of the functionality of the Western terminal access solution, Citrix Virtual Apps. The solution implements the functionality of fault tolerance, load balancing at the level of terminal sessions, forwarding local devices (clipboard, sound, printers), organizing access by role models, monitoring and auditing events, as well as the ability to integrate with adjacent systems through the REST API.

The developers also note that the Termit source code is completely written "from scratch," which makes the product more reliable and secure. The solution is included in the register of Russian software (No. 5356 of 06.05.2019) and meets the requirements for import substitution.
