2022: Development of an automatic microclimate management system on enclosed quail farms

Perm Polytech reported on September 22, 2022 that university scientists have developed an automatic microclimate control system on closed quail farms. The breeding of quail in Russia has become special. Quail products are recognized as environmentally friendly, rich in a source of valuable macro- and microelements, as well as the content of various vitamins. Quail eggs are a hypoallergenic product with a large amount of protein, and are more beneficial in nutritional properties than chicken eggs, since they do not contain cholesterol. The development, health status and productivity of poultry are significantly influenced by the zoogygienic parameters of the poultry house, such as temperature, humidity, lighting, air velocity and gas composition. Violation of the zoogygienic requirements of quail content has a significant impact not only on poultry productivity, but also on its health, as well as on the health of the staff working in the factory. The development will help ensure optimal conditions for the maintenance of birds, as well as minimize the unit costs of material and technical resources. And by maintaining a favorable microclimate, it will be possible to increase the egg production of birds.

The development of automated technologies that are aimed at regulating and maintaining optimal microclimate parameters in poultry houses is of particular relevance. This is primarily due to the prevailing external conditions due to the introduction of sanctions measures in 2022. The use of Perm the program presented by scientists will make it possible to solve industry the tasks set for the poultry farming industry to provide the population with high-quality food products, which will contribute to the solution of food the resident safety program. When Russia implemented, an automated system for regulating, monitoring and maintaining zoogiogenic parameters in a poultry house will improve the conditions for the content of quail and increase the amount of food products.

The developed microclimate control system on the quail farm allows you to track both physical parameters, that is, temperature conditions, relative humidity, dust concentration, air consumption, and chemical - hydrogen sulfide and ammonia concentration. A special monitoring and control unit generates control signals to turn on the equipment: a channel heater, a fan or an air humidifier. This is how the electric drive of the equipment is launched, which supports the optimal parameters of the microclimate,
told the head of the scientific group, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Information Technologies and Automated Systems of PNIPU, Sergey Kostarev.

Using the CX-Designer program, scientists have developed a farm operator screen that reflects the current state of physical and chemical processes and equipment operating modes.

In cases when the automated control system cannot provide the required mode of operation, a warning annunciator is sent to the module. This will allow the personnel to take additional measures when the microclimate parameters exceed the permissible ranges,
scientists added.

Several companies have already shown interest in implementing the development in. Perm Territory Researchers from the Perm GATU Perm Federal Penitentiary Service of russia State agrarian Institute and the University of the Northern Trans-Urals also took part in the work.
