Polywell X36-mini for August 2024 is available for order.

2023: X58-IN is a cost-effective system with HDMI-IN

On April 24, 2024, Polywell Computers announced the expansion of the Android PC line with the X58-IN model - an economical system with HDMI-IN. Polywell Computers is a hardware manufacturer that supplies devices based on processors of three different brands - Intel, AMD and ARM. The latter are used in several market niches, where Polywell Computers is competitive: Digital Signage, media players, set-top boxes.

A feature of these markets is sensitivity to the cost of equipment, combined with high requirements for fault tolerance. This approach to filling the gap between these conflicting requirements is the updated Polywell X58-IN system based on the Rockchip X3588S chipset.

The system is based on a two-cluster combination of ARM Cortex-A76 4 Core 64-bit processors CPU ARM Cortex-A55 and 4Core 64-bit CPU. The X3588S itself is a vivid implementation of the concept ARM called big. LITTLE DynamIQ technology, meaning a heterogeneous processing architecture that uses two types of processors. "LITTLE" processors are designed to provide maximum, energy efficiency while " time large" processors are designed to provide maximum computing performance. The system also has a so-called accelerator - 6 artificial intelligence TOPS NPU 3.0 (Neural Processing Unit). Compared to the full-featured Rockchip 3588 chipset, the 3588S has slightly fewer interfaces. But, taking into account the price difference with the RK3588, Rockchip RK3588S may become more famous, since in many projects all RK3588 interfaces are simply not involved.

The system can be supplied with 4 or 8 GB of internal non-replaceable memory LPDDR4 (low power DDR4). Polywell X58-IN is equipped with a 4-core ARM Mali-G610 MP4 GPU. It is capable of transmitting 8K @ 60 frames per second to 2 x HDMI ports. The system has one HDMI-IN interface, which opens up other possibilities for traditional Digital Signage and similar applications. For example, you can mix real-time streams from television and other sources with Digital Signage broadcasting.

The system is equipped with one adapter Ethernet 1000 Mbps. It is equipped with Wi-Fi an 802.11ax/ac/n/g adapter Bluetooth with 4.0. In addition, an additional M.2 3042 connector for the module/paired with the card can be installed in 5G4G LTE SIM the system.

The Polywell X58-IN can have 32 or 64 GB of onboard eMMC memory. As an option, 64 GB/128 GB eMMC 5.1 drives can be installed.

The system is fanless, which not only provides quiet operation and low power consumption, but also allows you to work in dusty conditions, including conductive dust. It can come OS with Android 12 or s. Linux The case is relatively small: only 125mm (W) x 112mm (D) x 30mm (H), weight - only 680 grams. Undoubtedly, this functional and cost-effective device will allow architects and software developers to create demanding applications, as well as migrate x86-based applications to the Android platform.

2022: X58

On September 23, 2022, the company Polywell Computers announced the release of X58 -. industrial Android PERSONAL COMPUTER

X58

According to the company, the system is based on Rockchip X3588, a low-power processor with optimal performance for ARM-based PCs and Edge Computing devices, personal mobile Internet devices and other digital multimedia applications, combining quad-core Cortex-A76 and quad-core Cortex-A55 with a separate NEON coprocessor. The X3588 itself is an implementation of the ARM concept called big. LITTLE DynamIQ technology, meaning a heterogeneous processing architecture that uses two types of processors. "LITTLE" processors are designed for energy efficiency, and "big" processors are designed for proper computing performance.

The system can be shipped with 4 or 8 GB of internal non-removable LPDDR4 memory (low power DDR4). X58 is equipped with a Mali G610 MC4 GPU. It is capable of transmitting 8K60 frames per second to the HDMI port and 4K60 frames per second to the DP output. RK3588 supports a H.265 and VP9 decoder on the 8K60fps, an H.264 decoder on the 8K30fps, and an AV1 decoder on the 4K60fps, also supports H.264 encoding and H.265 on the 8K30fps, a JPEG encoder/decoder.

The system is equipped with two Ethernet 1000 Mbit/s adapters, which allows it to work on two subnets at the same time. There is a dual-band (2.4/5.0 GHz )/BT Wi-Fi adapter on board. In addition, thanks to the presence of a full-size MiniPCIe slot, it can be equipped with a module, 4G LTE which allows you to expand network connectivity. A system equipped with four WiFi antennas can be mistaken for. WiFi-router

X58 can have 32 GB or 64 GB of built-in eMMC flash memory. In addition, it has one M.2 2280 slot for SSDs SATA-6Gb/s or PCIe NVMe. There is also memory cards a TF reader.

X58 has not only two USB 3.0 ports and two USB 2.0 ports, but also one RS232 port (optionally RS485) on the back panel and one RS232 + RS485 Serial COM Phoenix terminal and one 4in/4out GPIO Phoenix terminal on the side panel.

The system is fanless, which not only provides quiet operation and low power consumption, but also allows you to work in a dusty environment, including conductive dust. It comes with Android 12.
