We already have solutions that are included in the register Ministry of Digital Development Russia, this is the Tantor DBMS and the fully functional modular platform for managing and monitoring PostgreSQL Tantor clusters. We are pleased that the stack of our products included in the list of trusted programs has been replenished with PAC. Thus, we got a priority opportunity to work with Russian customers who need stable software and hardware complexes, "said Vadim Yatsenko, General Director of Tantor Labs.

Tantor XData announcement

On February 27, 2023, the company Tantor Labes"" announced that, together Russian computer with the manufacturer of equipment, the group of companies "," the Tantor Aquarius XData software and hardware complex (PAC) was launched on the market. This is an enterprise platform databases that at Increased workloads ensure mission-critical process stability and optimal performance, availability, and security. The components of the Tantor XData PAC are included in the registers of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia and the Ministry of Digital Development of Russia.

Tantor XData

According to the company, the hardware of Tantor XData is a computing module - in the standard version, these are two-processor servers of the x86-64 architecture, manufactured by the Aquarius group of companies at their own facilities. Along with them, options are available in a non-standard version with four-processor servers of the x86-64 architecture, two-processor servers with AMD EPYC architecture, as well as two or four-processor devices with ARM architecture (Baikal-5 and Kunpeng 920). The minimum initial configuration available to customers is 5 servers: three compute, control and backup. The architecture can be scaled to the same number of servers. In The maximum configuration PAC Tantor XData version 1.0 consists of 18 computing servers and supports 864 cores (1728 vCPU), 27 TB of RAM, 2.5 PB for data without a replication factor and 3 PB for backups and archive logs. For one database (DB) of the largest volume, 92 vCPUs, 1.5 TB of RAM and 120 TB can be used.

The software part is located inside the hardware module. It is represented by a server operating system - Astra Linux Special Edition, which has 3 protection modes: basic, enhanced and maximum ("Eagle," "Voronezh" and "Smolensk," respectively) - and is suitable for use in any information systems. The software part also includes three a replication-related instance of DBMS Tantor Special Edition, between which, depending on the load, automatic switching occurs, and a Tantor-based database administration and monitoring platform PostgreSQL. In addition, the PAC includes an additional from software Tantor Labs: Tantor Appliance Manager and Backman. Tantor Appliance Manager is a microservice for the Tantor platform that allows you to automatically manage hardware resources, create or delete failover database clusters. Backman is a service for backing up these clusters, administering made copies and archiving the WA log.

The Tantor XData comes fully ready for use. The developers created a convenient graphical interface for configuring and administering the product, and also provided the ability to change the processing power and amount of RAM without stopping workflows, and increase the space for storing data and backups.

All these characteristics make it possible to meet the needs of almost any customer in terms of organizing small data warehouses with the possibility of their online analytical processing (OLAP), as well as requests in the field of OLTP - processing transactions in real time, which is relevant for Internet banking, online sales, sending text messages, etc.

As of February 2024, the XData PAC is available on Aquarius hardware using x86 processors and is already used in test mode by several companies. The cost of the minimum configuration of this complex depends on the needs of the customer's business and is determined by the cost of software and hardware and service support of vendors.
