2020: Implementing solution for accomplishment of coherent numerical calculations in the field of agricultural machinery
On April 27, 2020 the KADFEM Si — Ah-Es company announced project completion on implementation of integrated solution for accomplishment of coherent numerical calculations in the field of agricultural machinery in Gomselmash holding. The company management needed to reduce power consumption and metal consumption in combines of different type and also loading of structural elements using the connected calculations of processes. Besides, at the enterprise wanted to increase a resource and durability of nodes, to increase performance, to eliminate local wear and hangup of bulk and its losses.
Products of Gomselmash holding are turned out on developments of own scientific and technological center of combine harvester construction. Taking into account the competition in the markets of the CIS and Europe, the enterprise needs to provide 2-3 developments a year.
As the partner for accomplishment of effective objectives the KADFEM of Si — Ah-Es company, the partner of Ansys was selected. Specialists of the company in detail analyzed needs of the customer and suggested to use a complex hardware and software system, including solutions Ansys for computational modeling and the Rocky DEM software product for modeling of loose environments and flexible fibrous particles (stalks of crops) by method of discrete elements (DEM).
Together with "FORSITE supercomputers" specialists of KADFEM performed delivery of a turnkey hardware and software system with installation and setup hardware (112 cores of Intel Xeon Gold) and the software and also within three weeks provided training of specialists with the software.
Within project implementation experts of KADFEM helped to implement a complex of the bundled software: Rocky DEM, Ansys Mechanical for modeling of an intense and deformable status of nodes and constructions (FEM), Ansys CFD (Ansys Fluent) for modeling of continuous medium and Ansys SpaceClaim (enters the Ansys Mechanical Enterprise set), a CAD packet for work with third-party geometrical models, preparation of geometrical models for calculation, geometrical optimization of constructions and nodes of the equipment.
Integration of the modules Ansys and the software of Rocky is performed in the environment of Ansys Workbench allowing to integrate problems of different physical disciplines in one complex multidisciplinary project. All modern technologies and tools for interaction with CAD systems, corrections of defective geometry, creation of high-quality grids, pre-and postprocessing are also integrated into the platform. The architecture of Ansys Workbench is open – thanks to it the user can integrate own developments on settlement Wednesday, thereby expanding its opportunities. The module for creation, import and editing geometry of Ansys SpaceClaim is integrated into the Ansys Workbench environment with two-way communication with the modules Rocky and Ansys Mechanical. Two-way communication allows to change and parameterize geometrical characteristics of model in applications of Ansys and to rebuild model during parametrical and optimization calculations.
The Rocky and Ansys Fluent software packages provide to DEM-CFD the solution of difficult multiphase tasks of interaction of gas (liquid) - solid particles as in one-sided setting (particles influences a gas flow or liquids), and bilateral setting (a flow influence particles and particles influence a flow).
For Rocky computing resources of graphic cards (GPU), and for Ansys – the central processor are effectively used: solvers of software packages do not compete among themselves for hardware resources. For the automated optimization of parameters (including geometrical parameters of a 3D model) in the project the module Ansys DesignXplorer can be used (enters the Ansys Mechanical Enterprise set).
