Russian Post began using domestic electric vehicles to transport employees and cargo

On October 17, 2023, Russian Post announced the start of pilot operation of domestic Evolute electric vehicles in Moscow. The Evolve i-Pro model is used for the tasks of the Moscow branch, Evolve i-Joy - in the transportation of employees and goods necessary for the work of the central office.

According to the press service of the Russian Post, electric cars are used on administrative and economic routes. During testing, experts will analyze the reduction of environmental impact and "noise pollution" in residential areas, as well as the economic efficiency of the car. The range of the Evolute i-Pro and Evolve i-Joy models exceeds 400 km on a single charge, the maximum speed is 145 km/h and 155 km/h, respectively.

Thanks to constant tests and analysis, we collect data on which parts of our supply chains electric transport will give the maximum effect both in speed and in economics. Although in many respects cars with ICE are still more optimal, we see positive dynamics with the development of technologies, "said Evgeny Antonik, head of the transport support department of Russian Post.

The company stressed that Russian Post is looking for and introducing cost-effective technologies and solutions that can reduce the negative impact on the environment. Earlier, the company conducted pilot tests of various electric vehicles in Moscow and the Moscow region. Tests have shown the suitability of new vehicles to solve logistics problems, as well as economic efficiency when entering mass production and reducing the cost of a unit.

Earlier, Russian Post received the first GAZelle e-NN electric car from the Modern Transport Technologies Group of Companies for the transportation of parcels and letters.[1]
