2020: Announcement of the electric vehicle GAZelle e-NN

On September 23, 2020 the Gorky Automobile Plant (GAP) provided the first electric vehicle under the Gazelle brand. He received the name GAZelle e-NN.

The uniform unified electroplatform which architecture allows to release a complete line of light commercial vehicles is the cornerstone of construction of new model: onboard trucks, minibuses, vans and special equipment.

According to developers, in construction of the electric vehicle GAZelle e-NN the unified components of a lineup of Gazelle of NEXT (the chassis, a body, salon) and original electric nodes are combined: traction batteries, electric motor, tension transformer, charger and other components. The uniform electroplatform developed by designers of GAZ allows to release different modifications of the car that gives the chance to production quickly to adapt to customer requirements, in the conditions of still small demand for electric vehicles.

The complete mass of the car is 4.6 t, loading capacity – to 2.5 t (onboard modifications). The synchronous electric motor on permanent magnets has with a peak capacity of 100 kW, the maximum torsional moment – 310 Nanometers. The power consumption of rechargeable batteries is stated at the level of 48 kWh, the maximum speed of the vehicle is limited to 100 km/h, and the course stock on one charging makes 120 km. At the request of the customer the stock of the course can be increased up to 200 km due to installation of additional batteries. The possibility of fast charging up to 80% of capacity in 30 minutes is provided.

In GAZ told that intend to localize production of electric motors and traction batteries which by the end of September, 2020 are bought in China. GAZ is going to begin serial production of electric vehicles in 2021.[1]
