VK requested 150 million rubles from the state to finalize and implement an analogue of Jive in the United Engine Corporation

As it became known to TAdviser, VK Digital Technologies (VK CT) requested 150 million rubles for import substitution of the American Jive knowledge management system , which is used to create corporate social networks and manage the tasks, projects and content of companies, in the United Engine Corporation (UEC).

The application of VK CT was presented on July 27, 2022 at a meeting of the competence center for the development of the Russian system-wide and application software "Communication Services" (CDC "Communication Services"). TAdviser was informed about this by a source who is well acquainted with what is happening.

According to the source, the Central Development Commission "Communication Services" promised to consider the application of the Central Inspection Commission for state funding for the creation of an information system for knowledge management (ISUZ). The meeting was attended by representatives of developers of communication systems and services - Greenatom (a subsidiary of Rosatom), Naumen, BKCTrueConf, industry organizations - ANO CKIT, ANO IIC, ANO IRI, as well as Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media Maxim Parshin.

According to the presentation of VK CT presented at the meeting, the project should take 17 months and be implemented jointly by VK CT and the United Engine Corporation, which uses 3000 registered and 3000 competitive licenses of the American company Jive Software. In 2022, UEC acquired 2,000 licenses for the VK People Hub Social Box employee social experience management platform. The platform should be deployed by the end of 2022. Another 150 million rubles are required to finalize the functionality to meet the customer's requirements.

In the future, VK CT allows the project to be replicated at Rostec Group of Companies and its other subsidiaries, in particular, the solution can be implemented in the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC).

By September 7, 2022, the Communication Services CDC should consider applications from market participants for import substitution of foreign software. The Communication Services CDC is one of 35 industrial competence centers (more here [1]) that will determine what software the Russian market needs. The supported applications will go to the next stage, they will fall into the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Finance, which will decide which projects will receive funding. Financing mechanisms are now being worked out.
