Garmin Pay

Garmin Pay is payment system which uses the FitPay platform and works through the protocol NFC. Supports maps Visa and MasterCard, at the same time, according to the statement Garmin, the list of the supported maps continues to extend.

A system was provided in September, 2017 together with the smartwatch Garmin Vivoactive 3 in which support of Garmin Pay is implemented.

Garmin Pay came to Russia

The payment service  of Garmin Pay earned in Russia since December 19, 2017. Now holders of cards  of MasterCard can pay purchases with sports hours    of Garmin Vivoactive 3.  As told  Garmin in the press service, service was connected  by Sberbank, Raiffeisenbank and Tinkoff Bank. At the same time until the end of 2017 to Garmin Pay service it is going to connect holders of the Visa payment cards.

For connection of service of contactless payment of goods using watch of Vivoactive 3 it is necessary to install in the smartphone the Garmin Connect application which is available to downloading in Google Play and AppStore. Later it is necessary to bind phone by  o'clock and  to enter information on cards into a virtual wallet.

Before payment of goods and  services it is necessary to unlock hours  using the password and  to bring them  to  the terminal. After introduction of the PIN code it is necessary to select the card from a virtual wallet and to lay a hand to the terminal for acceptance of electronic cards.  At the same time numbers of bank cards are not stored neither on hours, nor on servers of Garmin.

The announcement of start in Russia

The producer of the GPS navigation equipment Garmin is going to start in 2018 in the territory of Russia the system of contactless payments Garmin Pay. In November, 2017 reported about it in the Navikom company representing the interests of Garmin in the Russian Federation on the basis of the data which arrived at the disposal of the company.

Support to a system will be provided by B&N Bank and Rosselkhozbank — information was confirmed by representatives of banks. Moreover, negotiations on its implementation are already conducted with B&N Bank and Rosselkhozbank.

Sberbank, Alfa-Bank and some other financial credit institutions of the comment about support of Garmin Pay did not provide.

Will allow to pay products using smartphones with the set NFC technology for information Naviky, Garmin Pay: it will be required to bring the device to the contactless payment terminal and then to confirm transaction.^[1]
