Pilot-ICE (Industrial Civil Engineering) is a solution for managing a project organization.

The solution is designed to organize collective work when creating design estimates, managing executive discipline, corporate content of the project organization, planning and project management.

History of development

2021: XML Schema Release for Electronic Document Package Generation

ASKON on March 15, 2021 presented the next Pilot product release, including Pilot-BIM, Pilot-ICE and Pilot-ECM systems. More details here.

2017: Including Kaspersky Lab in Whitelist

On October 27, 2017, Ascona announced the conclusion of a cooperation agreement with Kaspersky Laboratory. The first result was to check Pilot's design management products for the absence of malicious code and their inclusion in the clean software knowledge base, or Whitelist.

Pilot-ICE, Pilot-ICE Enterprise, and Pilot-ECM systems on the global white list do not require regular security software checks. This saves the resources of the user's computer, increasing the performance of the systems themselves. Minimizes the number of calls to security software with requests that distract from work, and reduces the burden on system administration.

In the process of publishing beta versions and Pilot releases, distributions are sent to the Kaspersky Lab server for verification and addition to the whitelist. As of October 27, 2017, Pilot is already included in the updated clean software base. Access to Kaspersky Security Network must be enabled in the security solution to obtain this database.

How does it work

When you try to run a file, you first check the local whitelist created by your company administrator. Such a list is extremely necessary, since a lot of specialized software is often installed in corporate networks, and attackers try to fake malware for legitimate ones.

If the file to run is not found in the allowed list, the data about it goes to the cloud where the Whitelist global database is located. At the same time, only metadata, such as, for example, a checksum file, but not the software itself, enters the cloud. The results of the check are immediately sent back along with useful analytical information about the file, including its category, for example: driver, operating system, browser, multimedia, etc. Thus, the network administrator receives full external expert information about a previously unknown object in automatic mode.

The file is then either allowed or not allowed to run according to the network security policies configured by the administrator.

2015: Pilot-ICE Enterprise

On October 21, 2015, ASKON announced the launch of the Pilot-ICE Enterprise system for managing participants in construction projects

This is the corporate edition of the project data management system, which will solve the problems of collective work on projects, reliable storage of data and will open up the possibility of personalizing the tools, creating unique reports, will provide "seamless" interaction with counterparties at the level of bilateral electronic document management, import of projects and attributes.

Pilot-ICE Enterprise (2015)

The product is focused on various formats of the project business - from medium-sized engineering companies and design departments of industrial enterprises to head design institutes as part of industry holdings.

Pilot-ICE Enterprise is focused on efficient, comprehensive automation of the main business processes:

  • Project planning and management,
  • executive discipline management,
  • organization of collective work in the creation of design estimates,
  • harmonization of documents within the organization,
  • corporate content management of the project organization,
  • interaction with contractors and customers,
  • Analysis of reporting data.

Interorganizational Electronic Document Flow

Pilot-ICE Enterprise implements an inter-organizational electronic document flow ("designer-customer," "designer-developer," etc.), through which the approval or examination of projects is ensured. This level of workflow was made possible by using export/import commands in Project Explorer.

Through the functionality of export/import, it becomes more convenient and faster - to exchange documentation with counterparties, to execute a legally significant electronic document flow using an electronic signature. This mechanism, aimed at accelerating information exchange processes, can be used by organizations that are engaged in the examination of project documentation, both state and non-state.

Automation of project release

  • Using the XPS format allows you to reflect a document on any computer as it was created by the author and how it will look on paper.

  • An electronic signature protects the document from changes or distortions, and therefore the output of the document on paper will pass without problems.

  • For easy and quick printing of the entire project or many related documents, users can use batch printing. It helps you customize the automatic selection of printers and paper trays of the desired formats, control the order of printing, and track the status of the printing process.

Electronic documents use barcode and text label commands. An urgent search for a document issued weeks earlier will be quick if there is a barcode on the printed copy - its use not only reduces the time to search for documents in the database, but also ensures that the found document corresponds to its paper copy. To do this, you can also use text labels that are used, for example, for registration numbers or any other attributes that are required to be displayed in the document.

Searching for data in any information system is an important issue, and for design estimates, replete with graphic data, it is even more serious. After all, you have to search not only for text and table documents, but also for drawings. Pilot-ICE Enterprise contains a number of technologies that can perform several types of searches:

  • Full-text search for.xps,.pdf,.dwfx document content. It allows you, without opening the file for viewing, to find the document (s) that mention the specified word.

  • geometric search-Selects metal subassemblies by geometry in.xps and.dwfx documents. This technology has the potential to analyze the complexity of projects.

  • attribute search is a familiar functionality.

Administrative reports

If only standard reports are available in the Pilot-ICE base version, Pilot-ICE Enterprise provides the user with a convenient report designer with which to create individual forms.

Developer Kit (SDK)

Using the API, you can create "extensions" (modules) necessary for the work of a particular organization. The Pilot-ICE API is characterized by the popular planning module - Rubius Project Manager. It is integrated into the Pilot-ICE system.

The SDK does not require separate licensing and can be applied to both Pilot-ICE Enterprise and Pilot-ICE. However, technical support for the development of extensions will be provided only to Pilot-ICE Enterprise users.

You can test Pilot-ICE Enterprise in business by downloading the system from the official website: the novelty is available for use for an unlimited time in the mode of two users.

2014: Release

At the end of May 2014 , Askon introduced a new solution for managing the project organization - Pilot-ICE (Industrial Civil Engineering). It is designed to organize collective work when creating project estimates, managing executive discipline, managing corporate content of the project organization, planning and project management.

In addition, the solution functionality covers the data analysis and interaction unit. In particular, it will allow you to conduct author supervision, interact with subcontractors and customers, conduct data mining and geometry searches, as well as combine distributed design teams when working with freelancers in design.

Pilot-ICE is primarily focused on small organizations. The main target users at Askon are design institutes, bureaus, workshops and design departments of industrial enterprises.

Already existing in the Askon product line, an analogue of Pilot-ICE, designed mainly for medium and larger project organizations, the developers call the LOTSMAN solution : ASG, the price of which per workplace is in the range of 20-25 thousand rubles.

Representatives of the company indicated the estimated date for the start of sales of the new solution in the fall of 2014. The Pilot-ICE price will previously be within 15 thousand rubles. The cost of deploying this solution will also be lower than LOCMAN: ASG due to the fact that it also reduces infrastructure requirements: the enterprise does not need to buy DBMS and requires less powerful "iron" for its use.

At a lower price, Pilot-ICE also has slightly less functionality compared to LOSMAN: ASG, and using a new solution when storing and searching for information is no more difficult than Windows Explorer, the developers say.

Askon CEO Maxim Bogdanov explained to TAdviser that the segment of small project organizations is largely poorly prepared for long-term implementations of information systems, and such companies want to purchase tools that can be implemented as easily as possible and from the "box." He added that for the specified price, the solution includes the functionality that the customer can independently deploy and cope with its development.

The difference between LOSMAN: ASG and Pilot-ICE exists not only at the level of functionality and price, but also sales schemes: the first of them is sold only through the Askon-Integration division and several franchisee partners on an exclusive basis, while Pilot-ICE will be available without restrictions through all channels .

Maxim Bogdanov told TAdviser that as of the beginning of summer, a sales channel is specially formed for Pilot-ICE, additional partners are involved, since the model of working with small and medium-sized project organizations differs from the model of working with large companies.

According to Maxim Nechiporenko, Marketing Director of Askon-Systems of Design, in 2015-2016 Askon also plans to release a Pilot-ICE Enterprise version for large enterprises. Its declared preliminary cost is at about 30 thousand rubles.
