Ukraine opens a cyberpolygon after Russia

In December, 2019 Public service of special communication and data protection announced creation of a cyberpolygon — a research complex based on the National technical university "Kiev Polytechnical Institute of Igor Sikorsky".

The cyberpolygon is such hub where it will be possible to study, to be engaged in scientific developments. Educational classes, a conference room are for this purpose provided, in the same place we will develop our capabilities. It is created under patronage of the NSDC — the chairman of Gosspetssvyaz Valentin Petrov explained.

Public service of special communication and data protection announced creation of a cyberpolygon — a research complex based on the National technical university "Kiev Polytechnical Institute of Igor Sikorsky"

He specified that for a cyberpolygon the corresponding complex which was initially provided for needs of Gosspetssvyaz already purchased, but the decision one class was made to provide KPI for preparation and their specialists.

Start of a cyberpolygon in Kiev will take place until the end of 2019. It will be used for sharpening of skills of representatives of subjects of ensuring cyber security of a public sector and objects of critical infrastructure, modeling of cyberthreats, holding cyberexercises.

According to the deputy head of Gosspetssvyaz Alexander Chauzov, the cyberpolygon will become the instrument of fight against deficit of specialists in cyber security.

Today in Ukraine powerful tools — a cyberpolygon which we implement now to saturate the market with cyber security specialists, officers on cyber security purchased. This mechanism will be started for the benefit of law enforcement agencies in the beginning, and then we will "bring up" slowly specialists from objects of critical infrastructure, scientists, students etc — he at a forum "said Cyber security. Chauzov says that such platform should not be one, and the companies need to support this initiative.
