VitalHealth — developer of cloud observation system behind health of the population. The Dutch company VitalHealth is founded by Mayo Clinic and Noaber Foundation in 2006. By the beginning of December, 2017 in VitalHealth about 200 people work. More than 100 developers of information networks in the field of health care of the USA, India, China, Sweden, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands use company services.
These services include a complex of applications for telemedicine and also the platform of coordination of medical care which collects state-of-health data of the patient via special devices and integrates them with information obtained from other information systems.
2017: Philips buys VitalHealth
In December, 2017 the Philips Healthcare company announced VitalHealth purchase. Transaction amount does not reveal.
The transaction with VitalHealth will allow Philips to add to the existing portfolio the system of the advanced analytics, the program of coordination of observation of patients and behind their treatment and also a control system for results of therapy.
Services of VitalHealth will add observation system behind health of the population of Philips which the company purchased at Wellcentive in 2016, and will be used in the digital Philips HealthSuite platform. The integrated system will help suppliers of medical services to trace actively patients from groups of high risk and groups with expensive treatment.
Though the concept of "observation of health of the population" is widely used in many areas for a long time, the market sphere still is not familiar with it — the head of department of medical information science in Philips Carla Kriwet says. — However changes approach, and I believe, now, when we pass to the scheme of the cost focused health care, this concept will enter turnover soon. |
According to data of experts which are brought by Philips, the volume of the world market of services of observation of health of the population in 2016 was $14.5 billion, and by 2024 it should reach volume in $60.6 billion[1]
