The Danish company AGITO Medical was founded in 2004 and is engaged in resale of the second-hand medical equipment to hospitals, clinics and distributors worldwide. The company offers the second-hand and repaired medical equipment for visualization, the other medical equipment, spare parts and service contracts. The head office AGITO Medical is in Aalborg (Denmark), however the company has representatives in France, Germany, Spain and the Netherlands, cooperating with a set of clinics, hospitals and laboratories and also with all main producers of the original equipment in Europe.

History

2018: Philips buys AGITO Medical

On February 15, 2018 Philips Diagnostic Imaging, the division of Philips which is engaged in development and sale of the diagnostic equipment for visualization completed acquisition of AGITO Medical company, Danish service provider to participants of the market of health care and the second-hand medical equipment.

According to the statement of the representative of Philips who met with the journalist of HCB News, all 70 employees of AGITO will be employed on the new owner.

Philips does not disclose financial and other details of the transaction.[1]

According to analysts of Research and Markets, the AGITO Medical company is among leaders of the world market of the recovered equipment for medical visualization. Sales of this equipment will grow more than for 8% annually during the period from 2017 to 2021 that will be promoted in many respects by demand for inexpensive and effective devices, researchers predict.

2015

In 2015 the AGITO Medical company sold the general trade segment of the business of FAMECO that allowed the company to focus only on the equipment for receiving and image processing which at that time quickly extended.
