History

2021: Philips purchased Capsule Technologies for $635 million

At the end of January, 2021 Philips announced acquisition of Capsule Technologies for $635 million. According to the press release, thanks to the transaction the buyer will get access to the IT platform which is opened wide by Capsule Technologies for integration of medical devices, monitoring of the vital functions and clinical observation.

Philips noted that this acquisition fits into its strategy for conversion of medical care using integrated solutions. New technologies supplement the service portfolio of Philips including solutions for condition monitoring of health, telemedicine and interaction of doctors and patients.

Philips purchased Capsule Technologies

Within the transaction which, as expected, is closed in the first quarter 2021 Capsule Technologies and about 300 employees of the company will join a segment of the connected medical services of Philips. The company expects that acquisition will lead to sales growth in 2021.
