History

Rainbow Security began the activity in 1998 under the Rainbow Technologies brand as representation of the world famous American decision maker in information security field. The company promoted in the markets of Russia and the CIS countries of the systems of protection of software products against piracy.

By the beginning of 1999 the company expanded the assortment matrix and under the same brand began independent work. The portfolio of Rainbow Technologies consisted of the systems of software protection and means of protecting of computer networks.

In 1999 the company obtained the license of the Russian Federation for activity in information security field. This event marked the beginning of a new stage in the history of Rainbow Technologies. Already having in the portfolio numerous developments in information security field, the company signed the distributor contract with WatchGuard Technologies company and began specialization on distribution of solutions of the best global manufacturers.

Brand development of Rainbow Technologies happened in a segment of direct sales at the expense of what the company managed to create wide client network.

In 2003 the decision on change of a distribution system was made. Having begun to develop the partner network consisting of resellers, Rainbow Technologies refused direct sales. The SafeNet company absorbs Rainbow Technologies company. Rainbow Technologies working at the Russian market continues to work as the independent company.

By 2004 more than 100 system integrators and resellers as in the territory of Russia, and the CIS countries became partners of Rainbow Technologies.

Since 2005 the product portfolio of the company began to be replenished with new modern solutions of the world market of information security. By 2007 Rainbow Technologies provided the Russian organizations by the best systems of world famous producers, such as ActivIdentity, eEye, Entrust, OpenTrust, Precise Biometrics, SafeNet, Sourcefire, WatchGuard Technologies and WIBU-SYSTEMS, having proved as the stable, reliable company.

In 2009 the decision to bring the updated brand to the market was made: carry out rebranding of the company.

So in 2010 the Rainbow Security company was formed of Rainbow Technologies. By the beginning of 2011 the partner network of Rainbow Security company grew to 350 partners.
