2024: Agreement on the construction of 15 data centers for 35 billion rubles in Komi

On September 13, 2024, the Komi authorities announced a large-scale project to build 15 data centers (data centers) in the region. The corresponding agreement was signed by the head of the republic Vladimir Uyba and the general director of LLC UK Energoresurs-K Alexander Istomin. 2023: How digitalization is taking place in the Komi Republic. Results of the year

At the end of 2023, 100% of mass socially significant state and municipal services in the Komi Republic were transferred to electronic format. At the same time, the share of active users of the Public services portal reached 75%. 10 state information systems have been modernized. Such data are given in the materials published by the Ministry of Digital Development of the region on May 20, 2024.

It is noted that one of the main priorities of the digitalization program in the Komi Republic is to reduce digital inequality between urban and rural territories. In particular, in 2023, cellular communications and Internet access appeared in 13 more settlements. In general, from 2021 to 2023, 34 settlements of the region are provided with modern communication services: about 8 thousand residents live in them. One of the tasks is to support and develop postal services in the region. In addition, in 2023, the modernization of the high-precision satellite positioning network (SVSP) was completed.

In the Komi Republic, new measures are being introduced to support IT market participants. In particular, tax holidays are provided for individual entrepreneurs, and employees of accredited IT companies have the opportunity to receive a preferential mortgage at 4% per annum. For organizations of the telecommunications industry, it is possible to use an investment tax deduction.

In 2023, the assessment of satisfaction with electronic services in the Komi Republic was at the level of 4.42 points out of 5 possible: this is 13% higher than the previous year. The number of applications for services in electronic form on an annualized basis rose by 32%, reaching approximately 32 thousand. In addition, the development of the information security direction continues: one of the tasks is to increase awareness of citizens about possible threats and methods of fraud, as well as how to protect themselves from them.^[1]
