2022: Improving the reliability of the cash system and launching self-service based on Set Retail

On December 21, 2022, CSI announced that the DIXY retail chain had completed the transfer of cash desks of all chain stores to work in the updated system. The update was accompanied by many software improvements and integrations that opened up other opportunities for the retailer and its customers. According to the results of the tender, DIXY entrusted the development of its cash infrastructure to its longtime partner: CSI and its solution for automating trade Set Retail 10, on the previous version of which the retail chain worked for several years.

The retailer has updated about 70% of the cash registers in its stores on its own, 30% were launched by CSI specialists. As part of the DIXY project, the integration with the ERP system was updated. Given the scale of the chain - nearly 9,000 cash desks in 2,447 stores - used the Set ESB transport bus to centrally share data, improve fault tolerance and cash system performance. The CSI architectural team designed an algorithm for working in several geographically spaced data centers to create a disaster-tolerant system.

The retailer closed several tasks by connecting the products of the Set family: the Set Kit module for working with Internet-orderings, the commission trading lottery and ticket selling module, as well as the price tag printing module - their design management went from IT business, it is saved time when printing them. Integration of Set Retail with the internal accounting system alcohol ensured the addition of excise alcohol to the excise stamp check and verification of its validity: the updated control system avoids incidents leading to penalties to claims from supervisory authorities.

Buyers also appreciated the results of the update. Payment through Express Checkout from Gazprombank worked at DIXY on the previous version of the cash system, and now it has become possible to pay for purchases at the checkout through mobile application the DIXY Friends Club - the buyer does not need to additionally show a plastic loyalty card or. to scan QR code At the same time, the retailer saves on commissions and check tape.

The introduction of CSI K self-service checkouts, which also work in the Set ecosystem, has begun in Moscow DIXY stores.
