2024: Partnership Agreement to Strengthen Coverage Area

MegaFon and MVNO-telecom operator SberMobile have entered into a technological partnership agreement. MegaFon announced this on February 7, 2024. Cooperation implies strengthening the coverage area of ​ ​ SberMobile in a number of regions of the country, expanding the possibilities of international roaming and introducing digital solutions for users b2c and b2b. During the year, the partners intend to expand the geography of cooperation throughout Russia.

MegaFon will provide SberMobile with the maximum coverage area in the Russian Federation, which will allow the partner to obtain both the status of a federal telecom operator and the best signal quality in the network and data transfer rate. MegaFon will provide the infrastructure for SberMobile to operate in 15 regions of the North Caucasus, Volga region and the Far East, as well as provide partner subscribers with opportunities in international roaming and a range of services - from anti-spam services to comprehensive digital solutions.

The partnership will begin with the work of SberMobile on MegaFon networks in the Amur and Astrakhan regions, in the Kabardino-Balkarian and Karachay-Cherkess Republics, Bashkortostan, Dagestan, Yakutia, Ingushetia, Chechnya, Kalmykia, North Ossetia, Stavropol, Transbaikal and Khabarovsk Territories, as well as in the Chukchi Autonomous Region. The operators plan to expand the geography of their joint presence in Russia by the end of the year.

MegaFon's infrastructure will significantly strengthen the technological base of the virtual operator due to the maximum speed and the widest coverage of mobile Internet in Russia, which for several years have been recorded by the measurements of the independent research company Ookla.

The parties also intend to actively develop more favorable international conditions for SberMobile subscribers, roaming relying on MegaFon's partner network, which covers 584 operators in more than 200 countries and territories. A separate focus of interaction will be the development of such areas of work as spam protection cyber security , and M2M technologies. It is also planned to jointly develop a set of complex services for b2b-clients of SberMobile: from the creation of communications solutions under this brand to Virtual PBXs integrated CRM omnicanal communications solutions with -platforms of customers.

Stable secure communication is one of the main criteria for choosing a mobile operator, and SberMobile intends to invest more in the development and improvement of its services in 2024.
