2024: Implementation of UserGate NGFW

UserGate ensured the protection of the digital infrastructure of PJSC Seligdar. Business processes and applications in all of its assets are managed through a single distributed information infrastructure, now protected by the UserGate NGFW solution. UserGate announced this on August 27, 2024.

Enterprises and offices of PJSC Seligdar are located in seven regions of the country: in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), the Orenburg Region, the Altai Territory, the Republic of Buryatia, the Khabarovsk Territory, in Chukotka, and in the Irkutsk Region. The active development of the business, the expansion of the geographical expansion of the holding updated the issue of ensuring reliable protection of the perimeter of the information infrastructure. In addition, Seligdar, like most Russian enterprises, takes part in the import substitution program, under which the holding switches to the use of Russian solutions, including in the field of information security.

Within the framework of the information infrastructure development program, the holding's management decided to introduce a new generation firewall. The holding considered solutions that meet the requirements of the ISO 9001 standard, which have an EAC system certificate. Among the key criteria for choosing a firewall was the high fault tolerance of the solution and its wide capabilities to ensure maximum aggregation power and data analysis.

A thorough selection of possible solutions conducted at the holding showed that the next generation UserGate NGFW firewall demonstrated the most complete compliance. The solution has a number of competitive advantages. It supports large and scalable systems, demonstrates stable performance regardless of the number of connected users. The functionality of application control, web filtering, and the presence of an intrusion prevention system (IPS) played an important role in choosing a customer. These qualities allow the customer to solve a wide range of network security problems with a single solution, without creating extensive and complex systems. Finally, UserGate NGFW fully meets the strict requirements of regulators and has the necessary certification of the FSTEC of Russia.

To implement the project for the implementation of the UserGate solution, the Infor mzaschita team was involved. Its specialists conducted a pre-design survey of the holding's infrastructure, deployment, implementation and configuration of the solution.

Pilot testing of the solution showed that it confidently ensures the security of the perimeter of the holding's information infrastructure. Based on its results, it was decided to launch UserGate NGFW into commercial operation.
