2024: Russian government approves list of countries with policies contrary to traditional values
The Government of the Russian Federation approved a list of foreign states whose policies contradict the traditional spiritual and moral values of Russia. This became known in September 2024, after the publication of the corresponding order signed by the head of the Cabinet of Ministers Mikhail Mishustin, on the official Internet portal of legal information. This list includes 47 countries and territories imposing destructive neoliberal ideological attitudes incompatible with the traditional values of Russia.
According to Interfax, the approval of the list became part of the implementation of the decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin of August 19, 2024. In accordance with this decree, foreign citizens and stateless persons who disagree with the policies of their countries and share traditional Russian spiritual values can receive humanitarian aid and apply for permission to temporarily reside in Russia. For them, the mandatory requirements for submitting documents confirming knowledge of the Russian language, history and the basics of legislation, as well as quotas for temporary residence approved by the government, have been canceled.
The approved list of countries included: USA, Great Britain (including crown possessions and British overseas territories), Ukraine, Germany, Austria, as well as the following states:

The list of countries, approved on September 17, 2024, has entered into force since its official publication. According to the document, persons who expressed a desire to move to Russia from these states can receive temporary residence without the need to confirm the knowledge of the Russian language, history and legislation.[1]
